To whom it may concern:

First off, I'd like to introduce myself: my name is MICHAEL SWEET and you might know of me as the vocalist of the Christian (or as we used to say in the eighties: White) Metal band STRYPER, with whom l have recorded some 21 releases over the years. But that's not very remarkable, considering I have been doing that for more than forty years. On the other hand, I also like to write songs for other people and bands. On top of that I have a knack of producing my own material for solo projects. That is what you are reading about right now, as "The Master Plan" is my eighth foray into the world on my own. And this is a real solo experience, as I have written all the songs, played all the instruments but also provided all the vocals, lead and harmony.

As for the messages on "The Master Plan", they can be construed as songs of pure love and worship. And you could be right in suggesting that they all are about my religious beliefs and love for Jesus. But, if you listen carefully, you could also think that I have written it all for my direct family and my friends, for whom I am eternally grateful as they are an integral part of my life. I know, that's all down to personal interpretation. The fact of the matter is that I am a very happy man, with everything in my life. And by recording "The Master Plan" under my own name MICHAEL SWEET I am able to address those thoughts, emotions and opinions as purely my own.

As for the comparison to the music of STRYPER, accept for the vocals there is none. This is Melodic Rock; it's much more acoustic, with only a few distorted guitars used here and there. For me it is all about getting my messages across, and I feel that I have succeeded in that respect, but then again, that is what every artist says when he discusses his most recent endeavour. But if you ask around, I hope that you will be told that I have made "The Master Plan" into quite a good album with proper songs, well thought out lyrics and decent vocals. And that what I have to say is coming across in just the right way. If that is the case, I am (again) a happy musician and singer.
