Supreme Mytsic – Kala Rupa
November 4, 2025
Overall, I have to say, this was a fun album to listen to on a variety of levels. The energy was approaching a 10 out of 10, and although the sounds were punishing at times, the vocal harmonies brought some melody to the table. They kick some ass, and take no prisoners, that’s for sure.

Preyrs – The Wounded Healer
November 3, 2025
I have to remind myself that sometimes, music is supposed to be fun and energetic, and that’s what “The Wounded Healer” by PREYRS is for me. It’s not overly complicated, and it’s dark enough to be interesting, and uses a bevy of emotions during the journey. Amy has an excellent voice as well.

Nereis – Azure
October 31, 2025
This was a fun album to listen to, and sometimes even we Metalheads need that in our life. The music wasn’t overly complicated, overly serious, or overly heavy, although it did have some of these moments. Instead, the band chose to focus on two key ingredients in good music…melody and harmony. Indeed, what a fun ride is was.

Unprocessed – Angel
October 30, 2025
I genuinely thought they wouldn’t be able to better “...And Everything In Between”, but they have. UNPROCESSED have produced my album of the year with “Angel”. I dare anyone to make me listen to anything more impressive than this.

Psychonaut – World Maker
October 29, 2025
This album is a testament to the dual nature of Progressive Metal, where weight and wonder coexist in perfect balance. The tone of the record shifts constantly. Melodies move like moods, shadowed and reflective one moment, luminous and soaring the next. It’s an album of contrasts…brutal, mechanical grooves give way to passages of near-celestial beauty. This is music that weighs on the listener yet uplifts them. It’s heavy not just in tone, but in meaning…the kind of heaviness that stays with you long after the final note fades, reminding you that beauty and burden often share the same space.

"A lot of metal musicians are just nerds who love reading." – Sam Graff, AGENBITE MISERY
October 23, 2025
AGENBITE MISERY hails from New Hampshire. In February 2026, the band will be releasing their debut album, "Remorse of Conscience." The album is an experimental metal interpretation of "Ulysses" by James Joyce. This month Gary Hernandez, writer and editor for Metal Temple, was able to catch up with Sam Graff (guitars, vocals, synth) to discuss the some deeper details about the band, their aspirations, and their upcoming album as well as the curious link between literature and metal.

High on Wheels – The Monkey
October 13, 2025
This was a fantastic album. It didn’t break any barriers or tread new ground necessarily, but the sound was genuine, honest, and punishing. Insert any euphemism you want…a swift kick to the teeth…a gritty punch in the balls…whatever it was, it will wake you up in the morning.

God Alone – The Beep Test
September 30, 2025
I’ll say one thing about the band and the album…they are original. Are they too original to appeal to a wide audience? Probably. But they are also fun, and the music has life. Life it too short to waste it on genre discussions, so I say throw your caution to the wind and dive in. You may find that you are a new fans of their music.

Bogwife – From Ashes

“From Ashes” is a solid return . . . from the ashes for BOGWIFE. Part Doom rocker, part blues jam, the album hits multiple sweet spots.

Wounds of Recollection – I Found the Love That I Was Looking For
September 26, 2025
The beauty in this album lies mostly in its paradox. Conventional wisdom would suggest that the deep chasm of extremes on the album seem impossible to occupy the same space, yet they do. The raging vocals rise like a tidal wave that threatens to roll right over you, while warm melodies bubble underneath, keeping you safe. Taken as a whole, it lavishes in wonder, and in darkness.

Asira – As Ink In Water
September 22, 2025
This album is a storm forged from countless currents of Metal, pulling from blackened ferocity, progressive intricacy, and melodic catharsis. Rather than sounding like a disjointed patchwork, the band bends these influences into a fluid, purposeful whole. It’s a journey where every shade of Metal collides and coexists. The result is both cathartic and challenging, an album that reminds us why Metal’s endless diversity is its greatest strength.

Atomik Train - Atomik Train
September 12, 2025
Canada has given the world three of my favorite pass times, hockey, drinking beer and eating bacon, and two of the three I am considered a pro. They also know how to rock and roll, so let me put my beer and bacon down as I drop the needle on the latest import ATOMIK TRAIN.

Aeons – 6EQUJ5
September 10, 2025
When I think the possibilities of alien life, it always excites me, and the Fermi Paradox comes to mind. I maintain that given the trillions of starts in our galaxy, and the trillions of galaxies in the universe, alien life is a mathematical certainty. The album’s journey reflects these themes, together with sophisticated songwriting, outstanding musicianship, and complexity. Perhaps its greatest strength however is how well the band ties these things together, into a cohesive whole, that the listener can reach out and grab.

Brotthogg – Ved Veis EndeBrotthogg – Ved Veis Ende
September 5, 2025
This was a fantastic listening experience. The band combined the best of the dark and aggressive tones of Black Metal but with absolutely intricate guitar work that suggests a higher understanding of music. The contentious tones are as towering as mountain peaks, and the Progressive leanings bite with the fangs of a sabre toothed tiger. Both of these worlds collide here on “Ved Veis Ende.”

Vittra - Intense Indifference
August 26, 2025
The VITTRA album “Intense Indifference” will not be offering you any new insights, but what it will do is emphasize that if a band knows how to incorporate the right sounds and vibes into their music, they are capable of producing a very strong album.

Autrest – Burning Embers, Forgotten Wolves
August 24, 2025
This album was very carefully crafted, and the composer left no stones unturned. It pushed seemingly competing elements in equal doses, like the aggressiveness of Black Metal, catchy, solemn melodies, and a feeling of melancholy. In the end, they blended together with power, and with emotions that came alive.

Zetra – Believe
August 22, 2025
As a writer, one of the more fulfilling parts of my job is watching a band’s evolution over time. This being their second album, they were firing on all cylinders until that final four-movement song, but let's get back to that. What I heard on this album was more of an open embracement of melodies and hooks. The core of their sound is still there…Gothic style keyboards mesh with vibrant melodies and while there are somber tones, they take a back seat to those great hooks. The final song is a bit of a mystery for me, and it leaves the album hanging, and the listener wanting more. This is a unique band that has an uncommon sound that is just so pleasing to me.
