Master’s Call – A Journey for the Damned
January 4, 2024
The first couple of songs were good, but when the rest of the album was more of the same, as a listener, this just makes for a less than exciting experience. For the next album, I wish the band would push themselves more.

Wicked Maraya – Chapters
January 3, 2024
I think this is the right time to mention that all five chapters on “Chapters” are very high in quality. Be it in musicality, atmosphere or build up, they are outstanding.

Goatkraft – Prophet of Eternal Damnation
January 1, 2024
“Prophet of Eternal Damnation” is 29 minutes and 58 seconds of utter chaos and discord.
review
Michael Abdow – Séance in Black
January 1, 2024
Guitar-led music can be very personal, both from a compositional standpoint as well as a listening experience. It also has to be done very carefully, because there are no vocals, so the guitar takes its place. What I hear mostly on the album is veiled secrecy, a as a listener, you have to work a little harder to find its treasures.

Krvna – The Rhythmus of Death Eternal
December 31, 2023
What sets the album apart is the thoughtful guitar work. It is complex, but also accessible. Let “The Rhythmus of Death Eternal” accompany your thoughts about God and his existence, for it will give you much to consider.

Gama Bomb – Bats
December 30, 2023
GAMA BOMB have been able to turn this manic mixture of bands into an amalgamation of very good songs that cover a wide variety of styles and intensities, whilst making sure that the diversity is brought to us listeners in a way that you will easily be able to recognise GAMA BOMB as the perpetrator of your ears.

Elm Street - The Great Tribulation
December 30, 2023
ELM STREET hail from Melbourne in Australia, and simply said, on “The Great Tribulation” they play Melodic Metal with Hardcore style vocals with added little snippets of Speed and Thrash Metal. That does sound as a very interesting mix, doesn’t it?

Wicked Smile – Night Time Riders
December 30, 2023
: Get ready for high voltage classic hard rocking from the land down under.
review
Freakstorm – Angel in the Dark
December 30, 2023
For a cover band to evolve into a rock band with their own sound and personality is quite a feat and also deliver on a high level is another thing. Can FREAKSTORM be that band?
review
Immortal Guardian – Unite and Conquer
December 29, 2023
The best part of the album for me was the band’s strong musicianship. They are adept at every instrument and the vocalist has some set of pipes. At times however, the songs can border on the cheesy side of music, but what Power Metal band doesn’t straddle that line every now and again.

Praise The Plague – Suffocating In The Current Of Time
December 26, 2023
” Time” might be the greatest paradox of all, seeming to be completely useless when considering the world beyond Earth, yet absolutely critical to most human’s daily lives. What the album does for me in sum is make me wonder what else might be out there that I am allowed to question. For now, however, I will continue on like a rat in a maze.
review
Martyrdoom - As Torment Prevails
December 25, 2023
The riffs are loud and disgusting, but not overly. The vocals are growls with just enough hints of depravity to them without being comical.
review
Cirkeln - The Primitive Covenant
December 25, 2023
I loved being surprised by how good an album is, especially when I don’t know the band and it's this late in the year. “
The Primitive Covenant
” is a very impressive album and it will appeal to a wide range of metalheads. This is definitely one of the freshest sounding albums I’ve heard in this last half of the year.
review
Empire of Euphrates - Echoes of Ancient Past
December 25, 2023
I’d like to see what they can do with a full length and more thought put into the songs. It may not be my cup of tea but the band definitely has potential.

With 100+ armed conflicts raging today, “Commandoccult” is a befitting statement of our time.
review
Dimmu Borgir – Inspiratio Profanus
December 24, 2023
This was a decent selection of cover songs for the band to process, showing their take on the classics that influenced them. But I felt the selection could have been much better…maybe some KISS, RUSH, PRIEST, or even some different Black Metal bands from back in the day? It was an honest take on these classics, but didn’t show enough flavor or character for me.

Neurectomy – Overwrought
December 21, 2023
As I mentioned, this type of music is hard to compose and play, there is no doubt about that. But the end result is an album that is jut not memorable.
