Beyond the Void
Machiavellian God
The balance that the band was able to maintain between heavy, weighted aggression and tender vulnerability was impressive, and the stretched both extremes of the style. The heavier side comes at you with the wrath of a thunderstorm, while the lighter side shines through the black clouds like a beacon of warm light.
Daenacteh
Deception
“Daenacteh” is a crushing and spine-chilling symphonic Death Metal album, which is epic, and melancholic at times
Christus Hypercubus
Messiah
“Christus Hypercubus” is a good mixture of aggressive Death/Thrash Metal with very distinctive and versatile vocals
Temple of God
Mind Conflict

The Deceivers
Dååth
Let’s get one thing straight right off the bat—the band clearly has talent and musicianship, and the songs are tightly composed and excellently produced. What needs work however is the songwriting itself. There is just not enough variation from song to song, and they play it safe too much. 13 years is indeed a long hiatus, and a lot has happened since then. Back then, this might have been a shining example of prowess, but today, it seems to me to be just another mediocre release.
Until Where The Northern Lights Reign
Arcana Tales
One man power metal journey.
The Traitor
Nulled
It could be “The Traitor” is too ambitious for a full-length album and an EP may have sufficed. But then again, if Deathcore is your jam, then it just might be the album of the year for you.
Restos
Karnak Seti
“Restos” is a relentless assault of Melodic Death with a thick edge of groove from the beginning to end.
Mirrors
Djiin
This was one of the most unique albums I have ever heard, and my review summary seems admittedly disjointed. The band has talent, and they know how to compose and ride a melody line. A good deal of the sound, however, was rooted in psychedelics, and other dark things that don’t often come up in conversation. In a way, it reflects the experience that many of us have with life, but we typically put on a smile to wear over it. A mirror reflects the mood that you feel when looking at it.
Wonder
Lights & Motion
Crafting an uplifting album experience without vocals is indeed a challenging task, yet this album manages to achieve exactly that with remarkable finesse. Through its compositions and melodies, it weaves a tapestry of joy, hope, and inspiration that transcends the need for words. In the end, this album is a testament to the transformative power of music and its ability to uplift, inspire, and unite us all. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most profound messages are conveyed not through speech, but through the universal language of music.
It's Here, But I Have No Names For It
sleepmakeswaves
For me, the album had a tranquil and uplifting atmosphere, leading to feelings of comfort and rejuvenation, much like a warm breeze on a cool spring day, perfect for moments of relaxation and reflection.
Soft Eyes
Ba'al
“A path between shadows, the moment the sun slips below the horizon” all point to the coming of night. The darkness has been imbued with symbolic significance, representing the unknown, the unconscious mind, and the realm of magic and spirituality. It's a time when boundaries blur, and the ordinary world intersects with the supernatural, sparking feelings of fascination and reverence. If you hop on this bus to explore the album, you may never return.
All Things Shining
Oh Hiroshima
This album was mysterious for me, and, as any good album does, leaves the listener with more questions than answers. It stimulates intellectual curiosity and encourages active engagement with the music and lyrics, and invites repeated listens to uncover new layers of meaning with each encounter. Its thematic depth leaves room for individual interpretation.
Beneath the Threshold
Austere
This is a mashup of Black and Doom Metal, but it’s so much more than this label. It delves deeply into themes of sorrow, anguish, and introspection, evoking a visceral sense of loss, pain, and regret. Interwoven with themes of mortality, and existential reflection, the music's intensity is indeed noteworthy, as it immerses listeners in a haunting journey through the depths of human emotion. Life can be more painful than death.
The End of my Road
Far Beyond
Considering this was a one-person project, the compositions are crafted with meticulous care, and the arrangements are energetic and sweeping. I like the positive spin on the album, and fans of complex but accessible music will eat this with a spoon.
DEATHinitive Love AtmosFEAR

Turning Point

Limitless
Any Given Day
An explosive Metalcore release is what this German quintet offers.
Ondfødt
Ondfødt
This album was dense, immersive, and an intense listening experience, and should be celebrated for their uncompromising sound and ability to create an overwhelmingly harrowing sonic experience for listeners.

Whispers of Ancient Spells
Skuggor
This was a decent album, and keeping in mind that it was composed by a singular person, it meets all the criteria for the genre…harrowing vocals, massive riffs, and galloping drums. It’s not going to blow the listener away, but it was fairly solid.
Make Me The Heart of the Black Hole
Hyloxalus
The Canadian band HYLOXALUS, pledges to bring power metal smashed together with industrial thrash and soaring operatic vocals meeting power metal riffs.
Finding Pieces
Final Strike
FINAL STRIKE has all the makings of a kick-ass rocking band with a powerful vocalist, a stellar guitar player and infectious harmonies, so let’s see how it all blends together.
Lost In Memories, Lost In Grief
My Silent Wake
All in all, MY SILENT WAKE has crafted yet another masterful doom metal album that is one of the highlights of the year as we continue to approach the halfway point a little more each day.
Ekbom
Benighted
BENIGHTED have always been at the forefront of extremity and “EKBOM” further solidifies they are not going anywhere and will continue to push the boundaries.
On This Earth
Inver
The album sounds like a person who lost their way in life, metaphorically, and the ease with which this can occur. Sometimes, it’s a lot easier to take the dark path through life, but what causes most people to walk the line?
The Foam of Despair
Mourning Dawn
Overall, this was an excellent album. Threads of pain, torture, failure, and abandonment came through strongest for me, and the music was wonderfully depressing but keen with torment.
Dipygus
Dipygus
Filler aside, the rest of the album is rock solid. For those who like their death metal a little weird and off the beaten path, one could do worse than the self-titled.
Crowned In Blood
This Ending
I gave the previous album an 8 but this one is getting a point higher. The band doesn’t reinvent their sound but they have absolutely nailed it down. The result is a confident album that knows exactly what it is. “
Crowned In Blood
,” is kingly, indeed.
