Valkyrie
Emerald Rage
EMERALD RAGE has the ability to use a lot of influences and sounds and mix them up in such a way that it stays interesting all through the album. That does mean that for over 53 minutes you will be concentrating on everything that the band is throwing at you.
Eg Er Framand
Sylvaine
The fact that the vocals are sung in her native language only adds to the mystery of the album. I honestly don’t want the lyrical translation into English. Kathrine’s vocals are elegant, sublime, and pure artistry, and for an album with so little sonority, its impact can be felt for miles away.
Save Our Souls
Sujin
Overall, this as a good album in terms of two things. First, the level of intensity was very strong, so ardent Metalheads will like this. Second, there was just enough melody to counterbalance some of the more brutal aspects of their music. If I could offer one critique, it would be for the band to take more chances and step outside of the perceived patterns that guide the genre boundaries, because I believe they have a lot that they could offer to the fans.
Blackened Heartbeat
Secret Sphere
With “Blackened Heartbeat,” SECRET SPHERE presents themselves as they aspire to be musically today. This […]
Karma
Myrath
Catchy, melodic sensibility, unabashed massive hooks, style, and musicianship is what the album offers to the fans. The album has that perfect balance between weight and melody as well. This is the band’s sixth full-length album, and they show zero signs of slowing down.
Invocation Through Revocation
Mormânt De Snagov
This isn’t your ordinary Black, Death, or even MeloDeath band. They combine all of these elements and even a bit of Doom at time to tell the tale of both depression and anger. The balance that they reach between these two extremes is solid, as are the other elements they work into their sound. Keep your eye on this band from Finland.
Living Dead
Surgery
Slovak death metal band SURGERY have come to eat your brains on their third full-length "Living Dead".
Cyberstrictive
Apogean
Wind up the rope as tightly as possible, and then step back and let it go…that is the sound that comes through strongest on the album. Yet, within the confines of their impossibly tight structures, melodies escape somehow. The music isn’t as cold and sterile as one might expect…it breathes. This is a very talented band with an expansive take the genre.
The World We Inherited
Final Coil
The music is reflective of the themes mentioned in the beginning quite well. You can see the divide between people growing larger each and every day, and at some point, wheels were set in motion that cannot be undone. Have we reached that point already? It’s hard to say, but I don’t feel bad about the possibility of not being around to witness the end of times.
Letters From The Psych Ward
Blacklist Union
From the outside, “Letters from the Psych Ward” looks very plain, very middle of the road. Happy to admit that I was wrong.
In Rhino We Trust
Steel Rhino
If it was 1986, “In Rhino We Trust” would be topping the charts—but it’s 2024, radio no longer exists, and Extreme Metal rules the underground.
The Isle Of Hydra (reissue)
Twisted Tower Dire
I wish to ask of you as a full-blown Old School Heavy Metal or NWOTHM fan to have a good rummage through your brain cells and find a proper place to store the music of TWISTED TOWER DIRE. No, you won’t feel they have discovered a new kind of wheel, but they are making forementioned wheel turn as fluently as possible. If you do so, you will find that this reissue of “The Isle Of Hydra” is a very good starting point.
Ultrapower
Striker
The result is currently coming to my PC loudspeakers and is called “Ultrapower”. And for the first time since I have started listening to STRIKER, I have needed a lot of time to warm up to their music.
The Fallen
Ruthless
I therefore have no choice but be RUTHLESS and rate RUTHLESS with a rather high score.
Street Magic
Paralandra
Spoiler alert: This is a review I wanted to…no needed to write to get the word out about an amazing band that I saw “live” last year and instantly became a fan. They blew me away with their explosive musical performance and energized and animated stage presence.
Beautiful Illusion
Last World
Holy melodic hard rock music Batman, the dynamic duo are back with their latest album release “Beautiful Illusion.”
Amaranthine Hollow
Ilúvatia
Take a close look at the album cover to discover the sounds within. The picture is of a forest scene, with brightly colored flowers, a steam, and even a grassy lookout of the stream. That tree is just begging to be climbed as well. The album reflects this beautiful and peaceful image very well. It’s a bright spot on my mundane Monday morning.
Frozen Aggressors
Aggression
“Frozen Aggressors“ will have its share of fans who like a more modern and experimental Thrash Metal sound
…Makes Us Survive!
Headshot
“…Makes Us Survive!” has all the ingredients to make a good classical Thrash Metal album: the riffing, the pace, the aggression, the lead guitars
Kingdom Cult
Temple of July
Too much Pop on my Metal.
Awaken the Ancients
Hatred Reigns
Canadian deathcore band HATRED REIGNS puts the pedal to the heaviest of metals in a quest to leave the rest of the bands in the dust.
The Nations Dust
Hard Excess
HARD EXCESS from Austria is releasing their first full album The Nations Dust.

Reverb on Repeat
Soak in the album cover. The color purple is associated with a variety of meanings, including wisdom, creativity, royalty, power, ambition, and luxury. It can also represent magic, extravagance, peace, pride, independence, and wealth. The shades are much lighter however, and the deep colors seem to be faded. For me, this represents how much of our daily lives hang in the balance, and how we do our best to deal with grief, loss, and the mundane. We swallow hard, cry at times, and push through.
Metaphysicize
Bipolar Architecture
On one hand, you have these depressive, painful tones that you just can’t shake, and on the other hand, angry rage that bites through them but isn’t quite enough to overcome them. What results for me is just pure torture, and embitterment.
Cold Epiphany
Voice of Ruin
Melodeath has been around since the early/mid 90’s, and although there are several interpretations of the style, “Cold Epiphany” relies mostly on the stale one. They need more variation in their music, and some changes of pace mostly, because they are solid musicians.
Night Time Riders
Wicked Smile
Shut the fuck up and pay attention to the work of this excellent Australian Hard Rock/Heavy Metal act!
Bring Us The Head
Neck Cemetery
German Heavy Metal + references to old cinema films = NECK CEMETARY's new album!
Rizky Biznizz
Kardang
The new Norwegian Hard Rock sensation is here, releasing a new work!
Horrid Resurrection
Horrifier
Another good Old School Death Metal release from this young Norwegian act.
A Mirage Of Grandeur
Elitist
A good first full-length of this Danish Death Metal quartet. Prepare your ears!
Seeds Of Downfall
BlackFlow
A pyroclastic Doom Metal eruption is what this excellent band offers to you! Let's Doom!
Fire Smoked Upon the Wolf’s Back
Utgaroar
What began as an obvious ode to the FWOBM quickly progressed to a more modern and diverse sound for me. All of the elements a fan wants are there…harrowing music, filthy vocals, and ominous leanings. It had just enough of a modern touch to be interesting as well. Take a peek into their dark and fire filled world with “Fire Smoked Upon the Wolf’s Back.”
All to Dominate
Strigampire
The album tackles various themes such as personal struggles, global issues like economic inequalities and […]
Dreamscapes
External
The combination of ruggedness and melody suggests a dynamic and multifaceted musical experience. They also have an adventurous approach to their craft, which is often a hallmark of great musicianship. It's exciting to imagine where their musical journey could take them with just a bit more refinement and polish.
Anthesis
Suldusk
Growth can be accompanied by challenges, setbacks, and even pain. It's a reminder that amidst the beauty of transformation, there may be moments of struggle and difficulty. Growth often requires perseverance, resilience, and the ability to weather storms along the way. It also serves as a reminder that growth can be an ultimately rewarding, process. “Anthesis” is a testament to the strength and resilience inherent in both nature and ourselves.
Sea of Consciousness
Sea of Consciousness
The best part of the album is the band’s strong musicianship, followed by the diversity in sound they showed. My only critique would be some of the riffs…they are ones that you have heard before. But I would keep my eye on this band for the future.
