This past Saturday saw the latest installment of the Bavarian Winter Battle take place, with the headlining performance being delivered curtesy of Serbian Black Metal masters, The Stone. With the release of their exceptionally well-received seventh full-length album "Nekroza" at the end of last year, THE STONE have left many fans eagerly anticipating seeing them live, and their show in Rosenheim proved to be no exception. Just before their tempestuous performance, I got a chance to speak to Kozeljnik, the main creative force behind the band, covering a host of topics ranging from the new album, the history and message of the band, all the way to the upcoming tour dates for THE STONE. EXIST IMMORTAL may well be synonymous with "phenomenal, modern, untapped talent". A Progressive Metal band from the UK that includes splashes of Power Metal and Metalcore, they are truly an outstandingly melodic and powerful experience. Vocalist Meyrick de la Fuente had a few words with Metal Temple's writer/editor Daniel Fox regarding the advantages of different ways to approach songwriting, why the UK Metal scene is a rich node of untapped talent and how not being a stickler for categorisation and subfolders can work wonders for a band's creativity.

German, Pagan Metal extraordinaires OBSCURITY have long stood as a criminally-underrated band, the first album having been released back in 2000. 2014 sees the release of "Vintar", a monumental hunk of 'Battle Metal', through which the band draws on their heritage and roots, dating back to the Germanic tribe of the Tenkterer. Our Matt Johnson shared a hearty interview with vocalist Agalaz regarding the band's roots, the importance of separating the 'Viking' from the 'Pagan', and how Odinist values are incorporated into the music.

INDESTRUCTIBLE NOISE COMMAND, or I.N.C., may well be considered veterans of US Thrash Metal. Originally formed in the mid-80's, 2011 saw a strong comeback from the band with the release of "Heaven Sent...Hellbound", a follow-up long-in-the-waiting since 1988's "The Visitor". The will to soldier on is exemplified in this band, and in 2014 "Black Hearse Serenade" would see the band continuing their dream to keep the music alive. Our own Chelsea Jennings sat down with guitarist Antonio Fabrizi to speak about the band's hiatus, the immenseness of the new album and the vital signs of Rock Music.

The last album released by the band, "H.E.L.D.", was the first to feature an entire tracklist of originals. Joe Fryer caught SUFFOCATION at their recent tour through the United States with KATAKLYSM, PHYREXIA and INTERNAL BLEEDING; one of the great, American 'big deals' of Death Metal. Preceded by a light-hearted conversation about a mutual, avid interest in video games, Joe talked to guitarist Terrance Hobbs about the recent tour, spreading writing duties between band members, and that playing at 280 BPM isn't everything.
