Their music is genuine, honest, and full of heart-felt emotions, and they perform it really the only way they know how…with charisma.

Graven Sin – Veil of the Gods

The band has some better than average musicianship, but as I mentioned above, the length of the album overstays its welcome. Eight songs would have been more ideal for an album with this sound, which to sum it up, is a mix of traditional Heavy Metal elements, with some notes of Doom and Power tossed in. Although the production is strong, unfortunately, it just falls flat in the end.

Solo albums from musicians from well-known bands can be hit or miss…but this one’s a hit. Tomi reaches deep into his pockets and produced an album rich in diversity and several different styles. Critics could argue that it lacks an overall sense of identity, but I believe that is where the magic lies.

“Polar Veil” is a high achievement for a truly unique band and I recommend that anyone who is even the least bit intrigued by the merging of folk music, doom metal, and black metal. I don’t know of any other band that sounds quite like HEXVESSEL.

Strange New Dawn – New Nights of Euphoria

For me, the album sounds like the constant shifting skies during a passing series of storms. The rain falls heavy while the skies blacken, followed by periods of sunshine, and then back to storms again. What the band probably does best is not allow the listener to get too comfortable with the sound. As soon as it begins a hook, it shifts into another gear.
