Tassos Krokodilos - (Spitfire)
January 22, 2022
Keeping a certain flow of music for decades that is quite a challenge, especially when a band isn't necessarily career driven. Life can be kind, yet life can also be unexpected, things can change, and what life brings can affect every decision made, even when it comes to a music career. Spitfire have been legendary in Greece due to a debut album that made them a name, yet it has been hard to keep a stream of music flowing. They returned once, and now once again, but this time, proving that had all the tools in order to make something big. That something is called "Denial To Fall". Steinmetal had a chat with the band's new vocalist, and promise, Tassos Krokodilos, about his experience from the new album
interview
Bob Mitchell - (Sceptor)
January 22, 2022
Essentially one can do everything in music, and survive, depending on public support. Of course, it doesn't mean that artists can't be unique and produce something that is less popular, because art doesn't have to be like everything else, it more up and personal and less for grabs. Sceptor, generating a Heavy Metal style that has a direct contact to the US Metal prowess of the 80s, have been adamant in their direction, and lately producing one of their best albums under the moniker, "Rise To The Light". Talk about optimism, yet with a heavier punch. Steinmetal had the honors with a short talk with the renowned vocalist, Bob Mitchell, about his performance on the record, the album's music and more…

Tom Björn - (Memory Garden)
December 25, 2021
When the pandemic started two years ago, there were several comparisons to previous pandemics, yet, and gladly for the mankind of the present, and with hopes, Covid doesn't measure up. There is also the technological advancement, which provides an edge, but everything converges, and surrounds people. The Swedish Memory Garden are back with new material, after quite a while, as they never left, portraying a fictional story, crossing the Black Plague, over "1349". Signing with the Greek No Remorse Records, as their new home, the Doom Metal band unleashed one of their heavier pieces to date. Steinmetal had a chat with Tom Björn about coming up with new material after so long, working on the album, the idea and idle, and more…

interview
Corey Webb - (Apostle Of Solitude)
December 12, 2021
Negativity, and self-doubt, may as well be easy to accept, but to confront them with positivity, that is a challenge that a lot of people face on a daily basis. So how do you find an angle, they way out of a personal torment that at times becomes part of the person it holds? There is no straight answer but only a path to be set. The US Doom Metal band Apostle Of Solitude have known the darkened feelings deep inside, along with depression and its peers. "Until The Darkness Goes" is yet another token of their statement in regards to these strong emotions, but between the lines, invite the listener to experience coping in their own special way. Steinmetal had a good chance to talk with the band's drummer, Corey Webb, whom he talked about the sign of the times, being in family band, which isn't a cliché, and more…
interview
James Danzo & Sarabeth Linden - (Tower)
December 12, 2021
The pandemic, which has been part of the lives of many for nearly two years, has taken its toll not only physically, and financially, but also mentally, with even deadlier effects. Schizophrenia is only part of the equation, other than being isolated, secluded and virtually alone at times, these are part of what has been going on. Letting it out through music, that is art, as if as a release mechanism. It may sound banal, because music does that all the time, but everyone has a story to tell. The US Metal old schoolers, Tower, part of the revival of the old Metal scene of the US, unleashed "Shock To The System", and their intentions are felt. Steinmetal had a good talk with guitarist, James Danzo, and vocalist, Sarabeth Linden, about the prospect of the record, making it and more…

Samuel Cornelsen - (Count Raven)
November 29, 2021
And it just happened, after years of silence, the Swedish Doom Metal enthusiasts, Count Raven, are back in the fold. Was it under the radar or not? It doesn't really matter as their new album, "The Sixth Storm", was unleashed upon the worldwide Metal scene. Continuing their legacy of spirited Doom Metal, entrusted by old school values, Count Raven maintain their sound, and their presence. Atmosphere and heaviness unite, along with a voice that spreads far and wide, not really putting a focus on anything specific, leaving the listener to think about ideas and wonder thoughts as minutes of listening go by. Steinmetal had the chance to talk to Samuel Cornelsen, the new guy in the band, yet experienced musician, about the comeback and the album
