We Stood Like Kings – Pinocchio
April 13, 2026
Those of you who know me and have read my reviews probably understand one of the biggest tenants I have when it comes to instrumental music: That is, bands have to work harder in their approach because there are no vocals or lyrics to guide them like a hand they can hold into. You have to feel the music. Here, you will easily feel it all. They balance melody with aggression and the ebb and flow of the music is assimilated like the tides would be to a surfer. Literally oozing with emotion, it’s one of the finer instrumental albums I have heard this year.

Superior Rage – In Memorium
April 1, 2026
This was an excellent album. Although it steeped in the traditions of the genre, which date back to the late 80’s/early 90’s, the band refused to be define by them. Instead, they venture out on their own and lay down a fiery path that lights the way for their journey.

Wolfshead – II - Ravings From the Gutter
March 29, 2026
I just can’t find fault what the band is bringing on “II - Ravings From the Gutter”. It might not all be perfect, but it all sounds sincere, exudes the right kind of attitude. There isn’t a dull moment to be heard, so your ears will sharpen their hearing quite a few times, and your brains will try to accept and extort the information at its worth.

Orchid Throne - Buried in Black
March 27, 2026
I have to say that I am very much enamoured with opening tune “Dreamworld”. It starts and ends with piano sounds, but in between you really get the sounds that I have mentioned about the musical direction. I have to say that the combination of mainly Gothic Metal with Melodic Death Metal works really well in this song.

Starlight Ritual - Rogue Angels
January 25, 2026
The vocals have surprised me. At times Damian Ritual sounds a lot like the late Paul Di’Anno, mainly due to him having the same kind of vibrato, but also because on some songs the vocal lines sound as if they could have straight out the deceased frontman’s pen. But when he goes shrill and high he has a bit of Dave Mustaine in his voice as well.

Wolfheart - Draconian Darkness II
November 10, 2025
“Draconian Darkness II” is an EP of just over 20 minutes. It is filled with Melodic Death Metal mixed with Epic Rock and Metal and it apparently has been recorded to be played alongside the original album.
review
Supreme Mytsic – Kala Rupa
November 4, 2025
Overall, I have to say, this was a fun album to listen to on a variety of levels. The energy was approaching a 10 out of 10, and although the sounds were punishing at times, the vocal harmonies brought some melody to the table. They kick some ass, and take no prisoners, that’s for sure.
