Esdras shows a lot of growth potential and qualifies to be among the main names of the style in Brazil in a short time". The statement, written by Leandro Viana of the brazilian music portal "A Música Continua A Mesma", is those who make worthwhile every effort of a early-stage musician and injects extra motivation to continue overcoming all odds.
Indeed, Esdras musicians could not be more pleased with the first reactions of the press in relation to his first work, the demo "Mais Próximo do Fim" ("Closer to the End", in english). Produced by Tiago Hospede, guitarist of the band Worst, the effort brings six tracks and is collecting other warm praises such as:
"MetalCore that makes you want to listen it loud and bang your head" (Taberna dos Bardos);
"Great demo" (Galeria Musical);
"Metal core very well crafted and produced with impeccable execution and short lyrics, rough and blunt" (HeavynRoll);
"(...) such a heavy presentation, which gives to the fans of the style a cohesive band and well settled in what they propose to do" (Zona Punk);
"(...) furious, heavy, with right aggressiveness and strong vocals" (Portal Reidjou);
"(...) excellent musical production, strong and heavy" (Recife Metal Law).
Besides all these praises, the brazilian specialized press, generally, has been virtually unanimous in framing the group within the segment metalcore. For the bassist Cádio Michelsen, this is something that not displeases Esdras musicians.
"I don't know if what we do is metalcore or not. What I can say is that our references comes from hardcore in the sense of attitude, sound approach and lyrics, while from metal we bring the melodic aspect, technic. We are portions of both: attitude hardcore with the metal sophistication".
