Larry Barragan & James Rivera - (Helstar)
March 5, 2021
Celebrating the dark creatures of the night, letting the burning sun die down and enjoy the mystery and danger of the twilights. However, nothing is going to be quite, but rather raging, black and ever bludgeoning, like an adrenaline shot to the bloodstream. The US Metal vampire hailing enthusiastics, Helstar, are back and bearing gifts of great fortune. The band is set to release "Clad In Black", sharing new material, a calling card for something bigger, continuing to tease their fans with a fine Heavy Metal appetizer. Steinmetal had a great talk with Larry Barragan (Guitars) and James Rivera (Vocals) about the world of the underworld, not the mafia, the new album, reissuing "Vampiro", tribute to the gods and exports of Metal and more…

interview
Gustavo Acosta - (Feanor)
February 28, 2021
There is something that has be out there, important to say out loud, it is hard to keep people stating that an integral factor of Metal music is a cliché. Metal is to be sung about, as more than just a genre of music but as an entity, a spirituality, a form of religion, a place to escape to, to find comfort. Nonetheless, other than being a form of escapism, it shows facts, it tells you what to beware of, to open your eyes and just notice, listen to the sounds. Manowar has, and will always have, an impact on Metal music, the quality of the older albums persists. And there is Feanor, easily could be stated as a straying version of the Americans, and now with David Shankle, they appear somewhat unstoppable. Channeling the spirit of the old in their new "Power Of The Chosen One", a Metalhead cannot deny the heritage of the music and inner force burning inside the flame. Steinmetal had a great conversation with founder Gustavo Acosta, talking about the past, Metal music in his life, Feanor and of course the new album the collaboration with David Shankle.

Tiziano Sbaragli - (Angel Martyr)
February 21, 2021
The never ending battle between good and evil, the forces of light and darkness, sometimes it would look like an actual battle but rather a string of events that would suggest that there is a confrontation but not in bludgeoning battlefield. There are no winners or losers, it is like ying and yang, always there, completing each other in a twisted dance. The Italian Angel Martyr, led by Tiziano Sbaragli, created a small universe of choices, dark thoughts, contemplations and decisions. With the coming new album, "Nothing Louder Than Silence", via Iron Shield Records, darkness and light has a lot to tell. Steinmetal talked to Tiziano about the experience of the record, Traditional Metal, and more…

interview
Gou Takeuchi - (Significant Point)
February 13, 2021
East or West, it doesn't matter, Heavy Metal is for everyone, and being the so called minority in a scene that is somewhat different, and not giving up, is like being a kind of a champion. There have been plenty of cases where it didn't matter, it would have been best just to put an idea aside and let it fade. But, when passion kicks in, nothing can defeat it and it will triumph. The Japanese old school Metalheads, Significant Point, had their goals set in front of them, and they made their first step, signing in Europe and onwards to their debut album, "Into The Storm", where the 80s reign. Steinmetal had a chat with founder Gou Takeuchi about the new album, the European front, influences and passion for the music.

interview
Markus Becker - (Septagon)
February 6, 2021
A bright view into one's present and future, a motivational effort to let the person, and the public, know that one persona is hard to be broken, the terminology of "never back down" implies and it can work marvelously other than pictured as cliché. Each human being has the chance, sometime throughout his life, the ability to rise to the challenge, to become better at he or she does and strive for a personal glory. Therefore, live your lives, enjoy yourselves, when possible. The German Thrash / Speed Metal band, Spetagon, has been on the rise, a beast of fury, yet also filled with melodic scents and intelligence. With the release of their brand new, "We Only Die Once", Steinmetal had the pleasure to talk once again with vocalist Markus Becker, about the new album, its meaning, its purpose, the musical export and a lot of interesting stuff.
interview
Guh Lu - (Xeper)
February 5, 2021
A fortune out of the first sin in music, in particular through Metal music, it is quite enriching to be engulfed by one's interpretation of images, visions and perhaps mythical events of the past through a blistering kind of blackened mayhem. Taking it bit by bit, and simply out of nowhere, Xeper returns with the source of their newfound power, "Ad Numen Satanae", inspired by Satan and what is referred to as the Luciferian will. Furthermore, the band made another step by signing with Soulseller Records, which is considered the next level in contrast to their past. Steinmetal had the chance to talk to Guh Lu, the mastermind behind Xeper, about the new album, philosophy, how was it was and more…

Steve Hall - (Crystallion)
January 17, 2021
Countless discussions, countless debates, but the solution is actually simple. The past will always come back to kick some ass, and it might well be yours, it would be worth it, in Metal music though. Whether older or younger musicians, there is a kind of great vibes in the older days of the genre, perhaps it is the youthful spirit of beginners, though Metal was already quite grown in the 80s and took a lot of prisoners on the way. However, it felt free and lively without too much sub this and sub that. The Heavy Metallers, Crystallion, made a return to the roots of Metal, with a new lineup and a new album, "Heads Or Tails". Steinmetal spoke with bass player, Steve Hall, about the change in the band, where it is headed and of course the new album.
interview
Rickard Hednar - (The Generals)
January 16, 2021
It is rough out there, leaving aside the pandemic, as there will be a new era afterwards, with more than a few shreds of the pre-Covid 19 days. The big question is if it will ever change, the attitude, being human, the effects of modernism and how people interact. It is easy to start going through conspiracies for a dystopian future, yet people would just want to live their lives on their own accord. However, it is good that there will be someone to remind them that the future could be easily black. The Swedish Death Metal unit, The Generals, are back for a major Death Metal onslaught, leaving aside the spirit of Rock. Portraying the glory days of the early 90s, they introduce "To Hell", and it is down and hard. Steinmetal talked to Rickard Hednar about the band's return and the in your face attitude.

Arthur Rizk - (Eternal Champion)
January 9, 2021
It is all a matter of perspective. In most cases, fans of a band are looking for each new record that would continue the band's musical spirit, not really hoping for any wild changes that may take their attention away, looking for the next best thing. Of course, it is subjective, as freshness, and taking that extra mile by the band to forge a new path for future possibilities, isn't that bad, and some would not call it risk. The US Metal band, Eternal Champion, made a glorious debut album, voted by many as a classic. However, things turned a bit on the new "Ravening Iron", keeping the old yet also offering the new. Steinmetal had a conversation with guitarist Arthur Rizk about the journey of the record, taking that right turn to become a little more than a reproduction of the earlier stuff.
