Gustav Sundin - (Armory)
June 15, 2022
Looking up to the starts in the skies, one might indulge the thought that maybe, in a several years, perhaps a little more, our place would be up there, travelling between stars, or even inhabiting other planets. A lot of Sci-Fi based itself on the notion that mankind would eventually find the way some way or another, and from how our planet is progressing, or degrading, it might be proper to take action rapidly. The Swedish Heavy Metal band, Armory, always had their mindset on the far future, as Sci-Fi fans. Coming out with their new album, "Mercurion", their debut concept is born. Steinmetal had a good talk with Gustav Sundin of the band, and he had a lot to share about the experience.

Stefan Castevet - (Luzifer)
April 27, 2022
Just for the thrill of it, no obligations, just plain fun for the sake of Heavy Metal. There is never a no effort situation when writing songs, even if there is no chance that the end product would be played on stages ever. Perhaps, being without a deadline, a label the expects it and a fanbase that want it out performed live, there is a magic too it, a sense of relief in a way. Maybe that stress free environment is good for a band like the German Luzifer. Steinmetal had a talk about it with the band's Stefan Castevet, guitarist of Vulture as well, and the band's new album, "Iron Shackles".
interview
Philip Graves - (Redshark)
April 19, 2022
It is no secret that we have turned as digital as possible, perhaps we haven't really tasted what to be digital really is. There is a chance that the incoming VR technology will take us to journeys that we wouldn't want to get back from, like an endless trip, for life. The Spanish old school Metal band, Redshark, share the same fears as many others from the total digital world, making us a kind of slaves in the process. Through their "Digital Race" album, they hold nothing back, and fire everything they have. Steinmetal had a good talk with founder Philip Graves about what is going on within the record and his perception of old school Metal.
