Little is known about this Metalcore/Modern Metal band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. "Day Terrors" is the band's debut album, and contains ten tracks. "The Aphelion Complex" leads off the album. Harsh vocals abound in the heavy and aggressive sound. The meter shifts here and there, and an interlude of soft ambiance appears which includes the sounds of a hospital room, and warning signs. The song has a rhythmic cadence as well. "Transorbital Decay" opens with clean guitars, leading to a weighted sound with harsh vocals. It's dissonant sounding as well. Again, they shift the meter with expert moves. Dual cleans come at the chorus.

"Anamnesis" opens with a darker sound, with clean guitars strummed, and then dual clean vocals in the verses. Harsh vocals make an appearance and it's back and forth between the two. They have the harsh side of the genre down, but need a little work in the melody department. "Burial Plot" features some heavy accents out of the gate, with some fine meter shifting. The band has definitely built a tight instrumental section. It almost sounds like Prog/Tech-Death to me. "Biomite" begins with a smooth and mellow sound, before the madness ensues, built by Biggs on the drum kit. Darkness pervades the track and there is little in the way of melody. Instead, they build a heavy dissonance.

"Sol" opens with a mid-temp pace and vocal screams that are higher than the guttural utterances heard in previous tracks. Many of the songs however have a very similar sound to them, and it's easy for them to blend together...a mistake new bands often make. "Carnival Dread" builds into a tight display of instrumentation that shows the band's musicianship. But, the soft spoken words in the verses shows some versatility. The heavy use of rhythm is noteworthy as well. "A Demon's Pawn and the Abyss" moves faster out of the gate, with galloping drums, guitars and bass. Those heavy, rhythmic accents are on full display here. Some twin lead guitars carry the melody for a spell.

"The Vile Raptured" opens with a huge, lung bearing scream, followed by more heavy, rhythmic sounds from the instrumentation. Again, their ability to shift the meter effortlessly shows their skills. "Dystory" closes the album, with more of those heavy rhythms. For a first effort, it's good, and there is no denying their musicianship. This duo is about as tight as it comes. But for the next effort, I would recommend some changes every now and again so that the songs don't all sound nearly the same.
