The evolution of chaos continues as the band will soon release their first studio effort in over a decade. This Technichal Thrash Guitarmony is the "Baby" of Mastermind and Manager Kragen Lum, who has dedicated his life to keeping Heathen relevant, so they would not simply fade away. Michael Francisco had the distinct honor to speak with David who once fronted another one of his favorite acts in Blind Illusion. They chatted all about the "Glory Days". They discussed the addition of a new drummer and bass player and even the tragic fate of past bassists, several who are now dead and gone. Michael also realized that Heathen are truly controlled by chaos since Covid-19 has caused such calamity that these collective members - widespread across the USA - have not played a single gig nor even been able to rehearse to promote: "Empire Of The Blind".

Even in places where the metal scene is on the small side, bands like AURIUM from Serbia are blazing their own path forward and writing music that is powerful, emotional, and undoubtedly beautiful. Evolving into a more gothic symphonic sound on their second full album, "The 2nd Son", AURIUM wears their heart on their sleeve, opening up to the world and inviting them to experience the tragedy of life that is felt so richly in their music. Metal Temple writer Joseph Brewer conducted a two part interview with members of the band to find out about the inspiration behind the album and about their approach to music. Part one is a video chat conducted with newly appointed lead singer Dragica Maletić with part two being a written conversation with AURIUM mastermind and keyboardist, Siniša Mladenović.

The Risen Dread

THE RISEN DREAD are a Death/Groove metal band from Ireland with some members coming from Brazil. Ever since they burst onto the scene here in Ireland they have taken the place by storm and are quickly rising to become one of the biggest acts in metal in Ireland. 2019 saw the release of their debut E.P, "Delusions", which garnered rave reviews from everywhere including ourselves here at Metal-Temple who gave the E.P 7 out of 10. As a live act they have been described as a force to be reckoned with by commanding the stage with their presence with the crowd just eating it all up, and even got through to the semi-finals of the Metal to the Masses competition (which was then cancelled due to Covid-19). THE RISEN DREAD are made up of Marco (vocals), Will (guitar), Mat (bass), Colum (drums) and new member Niall (guitar). 2020 was set to be a big year for them with a European tour which unfortunately got cancelled due the Covid-19 pandemic. But like mentioned before they got a new member joining the band and signed a record deal with Wormhole Death Records with a full length album currently being worked on and to be released sometime in 2021. Australia's long running Black Metal band, King, found the patch between their country's reality and the mask that they have been showing for some time.
