Maybe someone can answer a simple question: why in the blazes does it seem that Metalheads became so linked to fashions and musical trends? Let's speak the truth: there's no problem when you play an old Metal genre. But you can't deny the criticism of lack of personality when it comes to your musical work, because it's truly hard to build something new using old musical clichés. You can be good, but you'll have problems. The Finnish trio GALVANIZER has talent, but as we can hear on "Sanguine Vigil", their first album, they need to improve a lot.

We are dealing with a band that focuses their energy to build a work on Old School Death Metal/Grindcore from the 90s, especially from the Swedish and English schools. As I wrote above, there's no problem in following this way, but they lack more personality. We can feel that they are still crude, with their musical influences too evident. They have musical talent, but they need to transform it into their own music.

The band produced the album, having JuhaMattiKauppinen on recording and mixing, and MatiasAhonen on the mastering. If they were thinking on building a sound quality to imitate the old days, they got it, sounding as crude, smoky and aggressive as the forefathers of the genre did. But this is an illusion, because the band could have done it in a better way, with a good sound quality, and the result would be better.

They have some good songs, but they aren't good enough to make the difference between their work and many others we heard time and time before. Songs as "Enjoyment of Annihilation" with its guitars, the Hardcore influences that permeate "Deathbeat Deity", the excellent rhythmic changes of "Sanguine Vigil" (bass guitar and drums shows a fine work guiding the tempos), the short blow in the ears called "Grind Till... You're Dead!", and rawness of "Premature Rot" are samples of their waste of their own talent on trying to be what they aren't. Be yourselves!
