Dragonsclaw – Moving Target
August 24, 2025
Don’t expect any new grounds to be discovered on “Moving Target”, but just expect DRAGONSCLAW to do their best to prove to you and me, the listeners, that Melodic Rock doesn’t have to sound jaded, bland or boring, but that it is possible to make it sound bloody exciting, invigorating and full of life.

Warlord - The Lost Archangel
May 28, 2025
WARLORD is a band that has given a lot of musical pleasure to a lot of Old School Epic Heavy Metal throughout the years. Formed in 1980 in Los Angeles they became responsible for some absolute classics throughout the years. Especially “And The Canons Of Destruction Have Begun…...” (1984) is one of those albums that every heavy metal enthusiast should have in his collection.

Lord Vigo – Walk the Shadows
April 21, 2025
“Walk The Shadows” is an interesting artistic departure for LORD VIGO. I’m sure it will have its fair share of detractors but for those who are flexible enough, they may find it actually succeeds.

Morax - The Amulet
February 18, 2025
I have racked my brain about which bands you can compare him to, and there are enough, but I will have to mention that comes to mind all through the album, which is DIAMOND HEAD. You will regularly feel that that is who you are listening to, and as far as I’m concerned that is a huge endorsement. But please don’t compare the two, as MORAX has a very different feel, a lot darker.

Scald - Ancient Doom Metal
September 9, 2024
As I previously stated, I missed out on
SCALD
the first time they hit the scene (hey I was 13 when it came out, what do you want from me?) but I’m glad they are back and if “
Ancient Doom Metal
” is any indication of their new found prowess and energy, I hope they stay.

Cloven Hoof - Heathen Cross
August 13, 2024
If you are talking about t a band that has been around for ages, the one that most prople do not think of from the start is CLOVEN HOOF. But, they did start life in 1979 and they might never have entered the Premier League of NWOBHM, but they were there nevertheless.

Sortilège - Larmes de héros (Reissue)
January 15, 2024
Borrowing the line from the sci-fi movie Poltergeist II “They’re back”, and that’s exactly what is happening here as I review the third reissue “Larmes de heros” from the French heavy metal Sortilege that was originally released in 1986. I haven’t had too much positive to say on the first two reissue reviews, so hopefully the third time is the charm, otherwise, borrowing the line from Terminator II, it’s “Hasta la vista baby”.
