The Kings of War on Heavy/Power Metal are back with a great release.
review
Prisoner - Kill The King
June 30, 2025
The musical genre of this PRISONER album I am listening to is Heavy Metal. Some will call it NWOTHM, but I feel that I need to add NWOBHM in order to complete the description.
review
Death SS - The Entity
June 26, 2025
The Italian veterans of Horror Rock is back with another great release.
review
Front Row Warriors - Running Out Of Time
June 25, 2025
The slower songs on “Running Out Of Time” are all okay, but the faster ones are the real stars for me. That is also where singer Elkie Gee gets to show off her wares, where she is able to combine her singing with what almost sounds like shouting, but which is done in such a way that it demonstrates how powerful her voice really is.
review
Celestial Wizard – Regenesis
June 23, 2025
“Regenesis” is a smart blend of Heavy, Thrash, and melodic Death Metal with some tracks feature all genre elements at once
review
Hangfire – Burn
June 18, 2025
I can only conclude that as a debut album “Burn” is something that HANGFIRE can build on for the future. I reckon that when they get even better in their collaboration and write even stronger songs that they will be a very difficult force to ignore.
review
Primal – Iron Age
June 18, 2025
My personal take on all of this is that PRIMAL is a very good band that makes very pleasant Heavy Metal music. nothing more, nothing less. But hey, sometimes that is all one needs.
review
Wings of Steel
June 17, 2025
Okay dear reader’s, I will get right to the point, I love WINGS OF STEEL and they have just released a new video single “Winds of Time” from their upcoming and highly anticipated new album scheduled for release later this year.

Skräcken – Echoes from the Void
June 15, 2025
“Echoes from the Void” bears repeating. A lot. Sofie-Lee’s vocals are spectacular, and the band is extremely tight.
review
Morbyda – Under the Spell
June 15, 2025
MORBYDA’s debut “Under the Spell” blends the raw energy and anger of betrayed youth with the evil machinations of an exterminating angel.
review
Claymorean - Eternal Curse
June 6, 2025
In just over 48 minutes you are treated to 48 minutes of CLAYMOREAN style Metal, and as far as I’m concerned, the main ingredient is still Power Metal, although it is larded with a lot of Heavy Metal parts and riffs.
review
Black & Damned - Resurrection
June 5, 2025
Wow, these Germans created an excellent and modern Heavy/Power Metal release!
review
Alestorm - The Thunderfist Chronicles

Rickert G. - Endless Thoughts
June 3, 2025
The songs on “Endless Thoughts” have body, soul and feelings galore, and the way that RICKERT G. has put his compositions together makes a whole lot of sense. It makes for almost 42 minutes of very divers and exciting Metal.
review
Neuroblade - Desert Claw
June 3, 2025
With all the info that was with the NEUROBLADE music it didn’t mention anywhere whether these guys will ever be playing live or if they will keep on making music together under this name. I really do hope they will answer yes to both questions, because I have a feeling that it will blow the audience away when they are on stage. And I am sure that if they improve and ripen with age, NEUROBLADE could grow into a force of its own. They have made a really impressive start with “Desert Claw”.
review
Goot - The Toll Remains The Same
June 3, 2025
This is bloody good music by a very pleasant sounding band. What they play is Melodic Heavy Metal that acquires and it has gotten a very powerful sound.
review
Palantyr - The Ascent & The Hunger
May 29, 2025
This French Speed Metal/Heavy Metal act changed its name, but it's very good work is still the same.
review
Chamber Mage - By Light of Emerald Gods
May 29, 2025
A very good first coming from this Heavy Metal/Epic Metal North American act.
review
Sacred Oath - Demo Anthology (1985-1986)
May 28, 2025
I like SACRED OATH, as they have musical similarities to bands like MERCYFUL FATE, but also some Progressive bands like very early FATES WARNING. There are a lot more influences you will hear, but they will expose themselves to you when you take a listen.
review
Breaker – Breaker
May 26, 2025
“Breaker” is a celebration of old school Heavy Metal inspired by the 80s
review
Cirith Ungol - Live At The Roxy
May 25, 2025
The music and sound on “Live At The Roxy”, it is impeccable. The songs chosen are from all over their career and are being delivered in a bloody impressive way. Little mishaps or mistakes have been left in, which only adds to the authenticity of what CIRITH UNGOL is all about.
review
Sacred Steel - Ritual Supremacy
May 25, 2025
What becomes very clear when listening to SACRED STEEL is that they know exactly when they can extend and when they need to cut it short. That does make that there is not one track that feels like it isn’t as the band was wanting it to be.
review
Black Sword Thunder Attack - Black Sword Thunder Attack
May 22, 2025
A very good new band of Epic/Heavy Metal from Greece. Be welcome!
review
Hyena - About Rock and Roll
May 15, 2025
A good Heavy Metal act from Peru, but they must evolve things, especially on the production.
review
Hexenhaus - Awakening (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
“Awakening” is the only one of the three rereleases that is benefitting from an extra song, knowingly the demo version of the title track “Awakening”. Was that necessary? Not really. Is it a nice touch? Yes, definitely.
review
Hexenhaus - The Edge Of Eternity (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
“The Edge Of Eternity” actually was the second album for the band. Originally released on 1 November 1990, while this one hit the streets on 16 may 2025. It houses a lot more Thrash influences than the debut album, making it just that tad less impressive for me. But the music that HEXENHAUS plays still is Progressive Metal with Thrash and (this time less) Heavy Metal parts to complete the sound.
review
Hexenhaus - A Tribute To Insanity (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
A Tribute To Insanity” actually was the debut album for the band. Originally released on 17 October 1988, while this one hit the streets on 16 may 2025. It immediately starts with the kind of music that defines HEXENHAUS; Progressive Heavy/Thrash Metal. If you need a reference, think a less extreme version of MEKONG DELTA mixed with snippets of OVERKILL and early METAL CHURCH.
review
Chris Caffery - 20 Years Of The Music Man
May 14, 2025
We all know who CHRIS CAFFERY is, or at least where he got his notoriety. If you don’t, you’re not very knowledgeable about SAVATAGE or TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. He has recorded some 2 EP’s and 6 albums under his own name and it is that era that he is celebrating by releasing a double compilation album “20 Years Of The Music Man”.
review
Power Surge – Shadows Warning
May 12, 2025
"Shadows Warning” is largely based on classical Heavy Metal, but with a modern Metal sound. Many of the tracks are relatively fast and dynamic., with the guitar riffing and the lead guitar solos being the album highlights
review
Nightsteel – Nightsteel
May 11, 2025
NIGHTSTEEL offers up a solid slab of Power Metal with their self-titled debut. Fans of 80’s metal should be all over this one.

The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Traveller Supplement 1 - The Ephemeral Glades
May 6, 2025
THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG makes their music in a way that it will transport you back to the eighties, as their brand of Heavy Metal is heavily reliant on that era. Thankfully they have been able to update their production in such a manner that that hasn’t been stuck in the past. It is very contemporary, without losing the authentic retro feel that really sums up the sound of THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG.

Wasted - Five
April 24, 2025
These veterans show on this release that they still have a lot to offer to the Metal fans.
review
Absolva - Justice
April 22, 2025
The quality of the songs on “Justice” are unmistakable, and the band brings them to us in a very good fashion.
review
Venator – Psychodrome
April 22, 2025
The songs themselves are varying from okay up and until rather good. You don’t expect to hear anything new or life changing, and you won’t, but you also won’t be disappointed by the quality level of the songs that VENATOR are ladling upon our Metal plate.
review
Lord Vigo – Walk the Shadows
April 21, 2025
“Walk The Shadows” is an interesting artistic departure for LORD VIGO. I’m sure it will have its fair share of detractors but for those who are flexible enough, they may find it actually succeeds.
