ARTILLERY hailing from Denmark were initially formed in 1982. After being active and inactive several times, the band has remained active since 2007. ARTILLERY is a Thrash Metal band and among their impressive discography are 10 full-length albums, several compilations, and one live album. It took them more than 40 years to release their first ever EP. "Made In Hell" has a length of almost 18 minutes, and it was released via Danish Metal specialists Mighty Music. No official video has been released yet. The EP offers four songs and two of them are new releases. It is the first release with the new line-up that includes with Martin Steene a new vocalist, with Rene Loua a new guitarist, and, after the tragic death of Josua Madsen, a new drummer with Frederik Kjelstrup Hansen. The title track starts with an orientally inspired, guitar-driven intro at a measured tempo, transitioning into the main guitar riff of the track. "Made In Hell" is a mid-tempo track for most parts. The guitar riffing is tight during the verse parts and the bridges, and it is accompanied by a lot of double-bass drumming. The vocals are harsh and they cover most of the vocal range, mostly between the medium to higher end. The choruses are driven by powerful guitar riffs with the simple chorus line. The track finishes a little bit surprising with the same melodic theme as used in the intro and it slowly fades out.

"Ghost In The Machine" is the second new track and it starts with a guitar-driven instrumental part at measured tempo, leading into the verse part at mid-tempo. Before the vocals start, a cool lead guitar solo introduces the verse part. The guitar riffing is tight, while the vocals deliver a great versatility using most of the vocal range. There is bit of backing vocal support during the chorus. The break offers an extended and contributing lead guitar solo, which has at least in part a few oriental vibes. "Into The Universe" is a re-recorded version of the track, that has been released on the 1985 debut album "Fear Of Tomorrow". It is a fast and frantic track with tight and aggressive guitar riffs, quite a bit of double-bass drumming, and vocals that range from the medium to higher pitched end of the vocal range. The break slows down the tempo a bit, and at its heart is another contributing lead guitar solo. The track circles back for another verse/chorus loop, which includes another lead guitar solo. The EP closes with a live version of the track "The Almighty", which was originally released also on the debut album. It is another fast track with tight guitar riffs and plenty of aggression. The highlight is the extended lead guitar solo during the break. "The Almighty" is an old school classic Thrash Metal track.

ARTILLERY release their first EP ever. It is a bit of a new beginning for them after three changes in their line-up. "Made In Hell" delivers classical Thrash Metal with tight guitar riffing, cool solos, and versatile vocals. The new tracks lack a bit of pace; there is too much mid-tempo for my taste. However, the re-recorded track and the live track from the first album make up for that. The EP is well produced. ARTILLERY offer a teaser for new things to come and Thrash Metal fans can be excited for potentially more new material from the Danish Thrash Metal icons.
