Medieval Demon – All Powers of Darkness
August 28, 2025
Overall, this frightening album was evil incarnate, if ever there were such a thing. The band uses various backing elements together with guitars and vocals to create a massive, twisted beast that used to live in the shadows, but has now stepped into the light. It is so hideous, one gaze into its foul eyes will reduce you to ash.

Rise Of The Wood - Discharge
August 14, 2025
Let me start off with a bit of history first. In 2015 in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands a group of musicians got together and started a new band, which they baptised as RISE OF THE WOOD. And yes, if you are of a dirty mind, that could be exactly why this name was chosen.

Ihlo – Legacy
August 9, 2025
An unbroken thread of melody carries the listener through an emotional spectrum. Their music exists in that space where progressive metal’s precision and compositional complexity merge with raw human feeling, creating something both powerful and deeply personal. The emotional breadth of IHLO’s sound is its defining strength. The songs give space for reflection, but they also demand release. They capture isolation and connection, despair and determination, collapse and rebirth. By the album’s end, you remember most how it felt. The album resonates in the bones, the breath, and the quiet spaces you carry inside.

The Lucidia Project – The Twilight Affliction
June 15, 2025
The album showed promise and potential, but didn’t quite meet the mark. Too many of the songs had a similar delivery, that was melancholy and sad. The harsh vocals helped break them up to an extent, but their placement wasn’t the best in terms of timing. This is a band to keep an eye on, because they have all of the elements to be successful, they just aren’t quite there yet.

Crematory – Destination
May 21, 2025
This was an enjoyable listening experience, although 12 songs did wear out their welcome just a bit. Many of the songs were catchy, and I love the use of electronica with the dual vocal style. You have to take into consideration the sheer amount of albums that the band has released and how long they have been around. I’m sure this new album will please current fans and probably win them over some new ones also.

Ghost – Skeleta
April 25, 2025
The evolution of the band swings towards the Pop genre for sure on this album, but that is fine with me. It’s supposed to be about the music, not the imagery, nor the past. Take away the masks, the costumes, and everything you thought you knew about the band, and just weigh the music. No living soul can deny Papa’s penchant for towering vocal harmonies and massive hooks, and this album overflows with both. Bravo, I say, bravo.

The Wildhearts – Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts
April 11, 2025
I must admit not venturing into this type of music much, but I wanted to push myself to listen to other styles, and “Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts” surprised me. They have a commanding presence in their songwriting, and play with absolute confidence. They probably don’t care if you vibe with them or not. Their style is fairly unique…they can sting you with the bite of Metal but choose more often to adorn you in their melodies, and some of the melodies are glorious
