Enisum – Autumn Embrace
February 19, 2026
The best part about the album was how well the artists connected visuals with the music. The song titles came to life before my eyes, and I could almost follow the tale by watching with my eyes. The album cover tells a lot about what you might find here in your listening experience…hues of orange leaves tell me it’s mid-fall and the mist that hangs low with mountain spires rising sharply in the background. It’s an inviting scene, but also one that might be marked with danger. Will you step into the forest?

Funeral Skies – Fragment Through Hollow Eternity
February 18, 2026
This was an absolutely fantastic album. Not only is the trio musically gifted at their instruments, they write melodies that are straightforward, high reaching, and just a joy to listen to. Pop this in on a long drive, and the time will pass peacefully.

De l'Abîme Naît l'Aube – Rituel: Initiation
February 18, 2026
This is an album that will crush your very soul, with equal helpings of death, disease, rot, and the kind of desolation that sinks into your mind and you can’t crawl out of. Once its blackness reaches you, its grip is firm, and can’t be broken. A warning…if you are already feeling bad, this is not the cure.

Echoes of Amara / Sincerely Yours - Nothing Happened Here
February 18, 2026
"Nothing Happened Here" is a small but mighty sampler to sink your teeth into once your Valentine's Day sweets are gone.

Thus Defiled - Wings of the Nightstorm (Reissue)
February 17, 2026
Whereas the musical style definitely is Black Metal, THUS DEFILED aren’t afraid to venture out into Thrash and/or Heavy metal territory when the songs demand it. That is where the real power lies within THUS DEFILED.

Imperatore - The Lionspirit
February 17, 2026
The sound that “The Lionspirit” is showing off is superb, is exactly what this kind of music needs. The bombastic and epic parts are being blasted through your speakers, which does happen all through the album.
review
Black Magic Tree – Terra
February 17, 2026
BLACK MAGIC TREE has the capability to write songs that come from listening to a lot of different bands that have coloured the Rock scene throughout the decades, and they have made it into a beautiful melting pot on “Terra”.

Redenção Pelas Chamas - Redenção Pelas Chamas
February 17, 2026
I never knew how great black metal in Portuguese sounded up until today.
review
Siechknecht – Pestmond
February 16, 2026
Siechknecht’s “Pestmond” is one of those albums that make you glad to be alive. It’s tough and bold and it’s also melodic and inspiring.
review
Parallel Minds – Cairn
February 14, 2026
This album was lengthy and the 60+ minutes of run time did seem to have some concept qualities. Their musicianship was excellent, but I found it difficult to really be able to dig into their sound. Normally, I love mashups…this one just didn’t do much for me and just wasn’t overly memorable.
review
Unmother – State Dependent Memory
February 13, 2026
This was a positively creepy and frightening album that used some unconventional techniques, and had some progressive leanings. The tortured sounds were so vivid, you could feel them on your own body. Tread lightly here…I feel it’s like a Pandora’s box that once you open, you can never again close.

Velothian – Mythic Dawn
February 11, 2026
The Black Metal genre has become quite expansive lately, and VELOTHIAN take full advantage of that. The vocals are pretty straightforward in terms of how they are delivered, but the music takes the album to a whole different place. The “conflict” between the two varying styles actually works very well together. This was an excellent album.
review
Banisher – Metamorphosis
February 11, 2026
Overall, the album didn’t pull any punches or stray too far from the path and the seemingly uncompromising vision of the band. If you are in the mood for continued shots of aggression and deep beatings, this is for you.

Metalodon - Indestructible
February 11, 2026
You know that feeling when you see an album cover, and you just sit there knowing that the music inside is going to be bad or at least entertaining?

Crossover - Miserere
February 10, 2026
So long as symphonic pirate isn’t your bag, this album is sure to please.
review
Crippled Black Phoenix – Sceaduhelm
February 10, 2026
Twelve songs overstayed its welcome just a bit, but some of the “filler” songs helped to tell the story well. The album was dark at its core, but also melodic, and catchy. The dual vocalists helped to keep the album interesting, and it was plenty heavy. Overall, an excellent release.

Slagmaur – Hulders Ritual
February 9, 2026
This was a delightfully commanding album that just didn’t settle for taking prisoners. Indeed, the sound was rich, full, frightening, and even combative at times.

"Imagined Deformation" is a technically proficient, brutal death metal album, but most of its instrumentation is simply not to my taste.

Funeral Vomit - Upheaval of Necromancy
February 9, 2026
Funeral Vomit offers straight-up death metal with no gimmicks, so they really need to bring it to stand out in the sea of death metal.

Architectural Genocide - Malignant Cognition
February 8, 2026
“Malignant Cognition” is recognised as a full-length album but I need you as a listener of this kind of music, but most of all buyer of physical or digital formats that the length of the whole experience is only 23:43 minutes. That is quite short.

Deteriorot - Echoes From The Past (Reissue)
February 8, 2026
. If you are a real Death Metal fanatic you undoubtedly will know DETERIOROT and have your opinion at the ready. If, like me, this is a first encounter, I suspect that “Echoes From The Past (Reissue)” will rev up your interest in the history of the band.

Sun Of the Suns – Entanglement
February 8, 2026
What I can say that if SUN OF THE SUNS ever come my way, I will be very much inclined to go and see their show. I would like to know whether they are able to emulate live what they have achieved in the studio and put on “Entanglement”.

Soundscapism Inc. – A Sea of Floating Mirrors
February 8, 2026
This was a nice collection of songs that for me are just here to make you feel better. Melodies are smooth, simple, and easy to grasp, and there are hints of nostalgia here as well. Isn’t that warm feeling you get when listening the point of music in the first place?
review
Fessus – Subcutaneous Tomb
February 8, 2026
“Subcutaneous Tomb” offers darkness and doom. The majority of the tracks are slow with sluggish rhythms and monotonicity in the guitar riffing and vocals.

Dying Remains – Merciless Suffering
February 8, 2026
“Merciless Suffering” is a bone-chilling delivery of traditional Death Metal with thunderous and punishing guitar riffing

TarLung – Axis Mundi
February 7, 2026
The title means “representing a symbolic, vertical axis connecting heaven, earth, and the underworld. It acts as a sacred, central pillar or portal.” Themes mentioned in their bio match the music quite well. The music is slow, filthy sounding, and apocalyptic in some senses…and reminds you that the world is actually a fucked place.

Juodvarnis – Tékmés
February 6, 2026
This was a fantastic release, and I don’t believe I have ever heard a band from Lithuania before. The secret to their sound was combining aggressiveness and torture with atmosphere, ambiance, and melody. There were just enough Progressive elements (odd chord progressions, technical prowess, etc.) to keep the sound modern and interesting, and I would love to hear what the band does next.

What Will Be – Primordial
February 4, 2026
I have to say that even though this isn’t even close to my cup of tea, there is no denying that WHAT WILL BE exists of four very good musicians who really gel well together. They know how to complement each other in such a way that it makes the songs sound very good indeed.

Pythonic – Decomposition
February 4, 2026
PYTHONIC does command respect. The way they have approached the music is impressive. I hear Metalcore, I get Metal Hardcore, I receive Groove metal and I hear Heavy Metal. Sometimes one of the four, at other times two or more of the four ingredients on offer. And what is even more impressive; they work well together.
