The album was quite impressive. The band deftly mixed a few different genres into their music, and did it so well, that they blended effortlessly. The rattle of Black Metal is very much present, but the riffs are discernable, unlike some of their forefathers. This is a take no prisoners, grab you by the balls assault.

This was a solid album, and one of the best compliments I can pay to it is that it doesn’t sound like it was performed by robots. It has a combination of Black Metal and Industrial elements, and it organic, but lively at the same time. I believe any fans of either genre will find the album to their liking.

Overall, this was a solid release. As I mentioned, there isn’t a lot of variety, so in that absence, the band has to really drive their sound through you ears and into your head, and they did that.

Overall, this is about as straightforward as Metal gets, but it wasn’t uninteresting to me. The best parts are the deep gutturals and the cavernous sounds of the riffs for me.

The cover art is fantastic, and the band have indeed honed their craft into a concise sound on the album. But I was hoping for a little more adventure, and some surprises. With their talent, the band could go to unforeseen heights. Fans who like the traditional approach to Black Metal, however, will find a lot to their liking here.

This wasn’t a bad album at all, it just lacked creativity and originality. For as good of musicians as the band is, it just didn’t separate itself from so many other albums out there with a similar sound. Doom Metal can be very exciting, but this album just didn’t excite me much.

The melodies on the album are glorious in their defiance. Like streaks of golden light cutting through storm clouds, they emerge through tremolo lines, layered harmonies, and swelling, mournful leads. In many moments, it feels less like the darkness is being accompanied by beauty, and more like it’s being challenged by it. Devastating in its weight, but luminous in its execution, it pulls you into shadow, only to show you how much light still lives there. It’s a breathtaking storm where melody triumphs not by avoiding the darkness, but by illuminating it.

Even being able to put together a three-song EP tells a lot about the band’s perseverance in the record industry, which to quote Gene Simmons,” is chaos. It wasn’t bad per se, it just failed to excite me as a listener. The vocal harmonies were probably the best part of the album, and the band has a strong sense of musicianship. The album just fell a bit flat.
