Ex Imperium
Nine Orders
Perhaps my biggest concern about the album isn’t the songwriting, or the musicianship, it’s rather the succession of one melancholy song after another. It keeps the album from really being able to take flight. Progressive music is typically always full of surprises, but this just coasted under the radar for me.
Liminal Shrines
Gutvoid
Overall, this was an excellent album. At its central core, it’s Death Metal, but there are some tasty riffs and pyrotechnics that suggest this is thinking man’s Death Metal. There are also some moments of ambiance and outright melody at times. Come take a walk with “Liminal Shrines” and see where it might lead you.
Too Fast To Die
Archspire
This doesn’t border on or has any association with Grindcore or any subsidiary of that genre. ARCHSPIRE plays pure Technical Death Metal that just goes a lot faster than you are used to. The title is quite apt, because what I am hearing on “Too Fast To Die” has the right combination between being as Heavy and intense as possible, whilst simultaneously maintain a bit of Melodic undertones to make the whole experience just that bit easier to digest.
Coronach
Hellripper
To me “Coronach” is an album that is exactly right for HELLRIPPER. The band needs to be able to vary more in their intensity and expand their musical horizon, in order to prevent the band being one of those who keeps repeating themselves.
Eternal Mistake
Karmamoi
This was an excellent album. It’s progressive in the sense of some odd chord progressions and a strong sense of timing from the band, but those qualities don’t take over the album. Instead, the band chooses to focus on a strong vocal performance, including building great harmonies.

Amnésiste
Korbo
Even for Progressive music, this was a strange album. The best part was their musicianship and willingness to explore. However, the album lacked a cohesive direction for much of it, and the pitchy vocals were a bit hard on the ears.

Cloudfield
Francisco Javier Perez
Keep in mind that instrumental progressive metal isn't the heaviest shit ever (I'm typing this as I'm listening to a twinkly and calm guitar/drum segment), so all you "true" metalheads can piss off.

Advent of Chaos
Amongruins
The sound on “Advent of Chaos” is actually quite heavy. The production is not only as solid as granite; it has everything you wish for if you want the music to come out of your speakers in an impeccable way what you decide to turn the volume up time and time again. Well, I can tell you that AMONGRUINS have succeeded with flying colours in that respect.
Defying Gravity
Dyecrest
DYECREST is categorised as Contemporary Heavy Metal. Well, if you add the monikers Epic, Power Metal and even a bit of Symphonic to all of that, then you are in the right ballpark. And what I shouldn’t forget to mention is that this is Female Fronted Metal.
Cma
Heiden
This is out of the box Black Metal for sure, taking full advantage of the expanded boundaries as of lately. Many of the traditional or even expected elements are there for the fans, but there are also some eerie qualities, some odd chord progressions, and a lot of tension. Indeed, creating that unnerving feeling that a sharp axe is held just behind the nape of your neck is one of the best things that they do.
Bleed For It
Thunderor
Musically there is no other way to describe THUNDEROR than as a band that has their ducks In a row. Even though they change direction ever so often, they do make themselves sound very coherent.
Flora
Andes COL

Nothing Is All I Am
Virtue In Vain
“Nothing Is All I Am” is an EP that should make VIRTUE IN VAIN come out smelling of roses. I am simply wondering why no record company has p[icked them up and given the time, space and opportunity to grow under their wings. If you ask me, this deserves to be heard worldwide.
Duskfall Volume 1
Chasing Sanity
This was a very pleasing album that took me back to the 80’s, at a time when keyboards ruled the airwaves. The Retrowave sound was enhanced by six strings, and a dark pulse of electronica that was meaty. It rode smoothly into the far crevices of your mind, and took root, rebuilding some of the times and the music that was dormant in my head.
Mental Void
Neckbreaker
Bay Area Thrash Metal from Chile. Is that possible? Well, yes, it is! You only have to listen to the debut album of NECKBREAKER, who hail from Santiago, in order for you to admit that “Mental Void” does contain music that is from that specific area.
Barbarian
Reek of God
Apparently BARBARIAN plays Speed/Thrash/Black Metal. Well, that is true. And if that will make you think of a project like MIDNIGHT, I wouldn’t blame you, as “Reek of God” does fit in the same ballpark. The big difference between the two being that where MIDNIGHT has more of an early VENOM vibe, you will be hard pressed not to compare BARBARIAN to a band like MOTÖRHEAD, mixed with early EXCITER.
Mountains of Madness
Total Annihilation
Even though I have quite a good understanding of the English language, I have to admit that there is one title that had me stumped, so I looked it up. The explanation of “Nyctophobia” is that it is an intense, irrational fear of the dark or night-time, often causing severe anxiety, panic attacks, and physical symptoms like sweating or nausea.
Rage Of The Thunderstorm
Executioner Steel
The Bangladesh band EXECUTIONER STEEL play Old School Epic Heavy Metal that is inundated with every cliché available to Metalkind on “Rage Of The Thunderstorm”.
Palingenæon
Angerer
I’ve heard jazz, funk, and other forms of music combined with Metal, but never quite to these reaches, and never this smoothly. When you hear the aggressive weight of Progressive Metal and Djent elements on the album, their energy fires you up. When the band adds in all the other sounds, and consider the album as whole, these seemingly foreign elements just enhance the album. Their musicianship is outstanding as well.
Hard Anger Deluxe
Agabas
my Agabas-induced paracusias is acting up again.
Eons Of Horror
Evil Damn
“Eons Of Horror” is traditional Death Metal with a few Thrash Metal twists. All tracks are fast and frantic with punishing riffs and very aggressive vocals.
Enthroned In Torment
Bound To Prevail
“Enthroned In Torment” is classical Death Metal with a few Deathcore vibes at times. Fans of traditional Death Metal, who like it simple, aggressive, and spine-chilling will like the debut album of BOUND TO PREVAIL

Another Lie (single)
DAZR
Like the hot girl at the bar that teases by showing just enough skin to keep me buying her drinks, DAZR gives us just enough skin with their latest single “Another Lie” to keep me buying them drinks in anticipation of their upcoming album,…yep, I fall for it every time.
Rites of Ra
Venthiax
“Rites of Ra” is as brutal as it is fast, reminiscent of the 80’s though as relevant to our day and age as ever.
Atlantic Reborn
King Heavy
For existing KING HEAVY fans, “Atlantic Reborn” provides a unique perspective into the band’s past with rare cuts; for new fans it offers a snapshot from each album.
The Beast Goes On
Starbenders
This was a solid album, containing a diverse set of songs with different themes while still maintaining the high level of energy that comes with the genre. It’s a retrospective and sentimental sound that keys on the pulse of the radio during that time.
Woes Are Legion
Black Idol
I am quite a lapidarist when it comes to the musical jewels of Serbia.
Nowhere In Between Forever
Lantlos
You may ask yourself, why is this band signed to Prophecy Productions, a largely Metal label, when this music is pretty far away from that label? The answer is, of course, because they can. Prophecy Productions has always been able to find artists like Markus out there, and they don’t really care about genres. Just listen to the album, and you will find secret boxes that have gold hidden in them, overflowing with pleasing melodies. On the first warm day of spring in NorthEast Pennsylvania, this album is just the panacea that I needed today. Simple, but exquisite
Violent Playground
Bite Down
If songs don’t have to make sense to you, but need to be filled with as much noise and distracting sounds possible, you should give BITE DOWN a go. Who knows, “Violent Playground” may be just your thing.
Fractured Minds
Our Mirage
Metalcore is becoming more and more a mainstream Metal genre, and with that you will get the bands that start fitting that bill more and more. OUR MIRAGE is such a band.
