The Experiment Interrupted
Ygodeh
And coming from Latvia, this good band, with a good work: YGODEH's first Full-Length "The Experiment Interrupted", is a good breakthrough, indeed.
These guys do a more experimental way for Technical Death Metal, using some electronic effects and Jazz moments in the middle of their work, along with keyboards. And without losing the aggressiveness and weight, with good riffs, bass and drums creating a heavy and well-worked rhythmic basis, keyboards in good shape and good grunts.
Good sound production, providing weight and making all instruments sound clear, it could be better for the guitars (they deserve a better sounding. It's good here, but could be way better than we hear, and the same goes for the drums). The artwork is simple, making us all think that their focus is in their music.
Their finest moments: "From on High" (a more harsh song, with great moments with violin), the experimental "Groove's Night" (good Industrial moments in this song, as well as vocals are fine) and "Trance Orchestra". Oppressive and experimentalism from the beginning to the end.
It's a good band, and with the right hand in their production, they can become great for sure.
