Wolvhammer - Clawing Into Black Sun album cover

And from U.S., another fine piece of music appears.

Besides the fact that it's not their first album, "Clawing into Black Sun", from WOLVHAMMER, is truly a great record!

They mix a Black Metal form with a slow and Sludge Rock embodiment, their music is catching, full of great melodies and arrangements, sounding like a mix between BLACK SABBATH, VENOM and BATHORY, but it's nothing similar to some works from bands that do the same mix. They try to extend bounds, and it's good.

The sound production is raw and dirty, but it don't harm their music, maybe this aspect gives them a better sound, making their riffs, rhythmic basis, and vocals appear in a better shape than a clean production.

The best moments: the long and slow "The Silver Key" (great works from guitars and bass!), "Clawing into Black Sun" (a slow funeral procession with excellent vocals and riffs), "The Desanctification" and its excellent tempos, and the raw and morbid "A Light That Does Not Yield".

Great band, indeed!
