Nightriders

Metal Punk is a new musical genre or just a new label?
Explaining what I mean: I don't remember of such a label back in the 80's, but such musical format was used by names as VOIVOD, TANK, WARFARE and others. It's just an evolution of what MOTORHEAD created with its amazing energy, simple melodies and Punk Rock aggressiveness. It can be excellent, good or bad depending on the insight used by the band. But in the case of the quartet WÖLFBLOOD, their EP "Nightriders" is really very good To be honest, they are playing in the same vein of MOTORHEAD and TANK, using that dirty, fast and simple approach, but with charming and simple melodies. OK, I know that many others did the same thing before, but this format is always good, especially when the band shows musical personality, and personality is one thing that these four drunken gang bastards have! Let them convince you and take you by assault!
About the sound quality of "Nightriders": it's crude, harsh and dirty like a smoky bar on the lowest and dangerous part of the town you live. But is obvious that it's clear enough for we understand what is being played by the quartet. I believe that they used these crude tunes on the musical instruments, not on the mixing, and this is the reason we can understand what they are playing. Their musical fury is really amazing. It's a nasty and filthy Rock 'n' Roll insight, and let me tell you: the filthy and charming melodies of "Fury Road" (very good guitar riffs and solo), the nasty appeal of the harmonies of "Rot & Roll" (this simple technique of bass guitar and drums is really what they need) and on "Ride With Satan" (these nasty screamed tunes on the vocals matches perfectly on their musical work). And their Rock 'n' Roll abrasive energy fills the reckless "Serpent Queen". But ending this EP, they recorded a fine version for "Turn Your Head Around", an old hymn from legendary band TANK that really is amazing and personal.
I hope that this pack of Bastard Wolves can come with a full-length album.
