Sometimes, Metal fans label some features of Metal as "ridiculous things". The corpse paint in Black Metal, the clothes for Viking Metal and Pagan Metal bands, the Glam Metal androgynous outfits...these features have reasons for existing, and you can like them or not, but never call them "ridiculous". Be polite with the others, because someone can label something you love as "ridiculous" as well. Those worlds are to explain that the outfit used by the quartet WARGODS makes part of a total artistic conception. But if you think that it takes the attention from a mediocre form of music, you're wrong, because "Reborn" is a very good album.
It's a traditional Heavy/Power Metal that is presented to us, with a personal touch from the quartet and tons of musical weight, and without the virtuous outfit that many bands use, in a trend like GRAVE DIGGER and SABATON likes to play. Obviously, it's nothing new at all, but the way the band works on the charming melodies, the catchy choruses... Let's say that it's an excellent work that deserves to be heard at the highest sound volume possible Eikus Freesus made a great work on the mixing and on the mastering of "Reborn", because everything can be heard loud, clear and heavy as a mammoth. It's really an excellent work, done with the right instrumental tunes. And the artwork from the cover (a creation of Sir Gyula of Havancsák) is really excellent.
The excellent musical arrangements and weight of "Give 'Em War" (a catchy song, with excellent vocals and chorus), the charming melodies of "Never Surrender" (another excellent chorus in a traditional Power Metal song, showing a great work from bass guitar and drums), the slow tempos mixed with great melodies and hypnotic guitar riffs of "Hephaistos", the epic touches on the harmonies of "Battle Cry", and the weight by the double bass drumming on "Sparta" can be pointed as the album's best songs, but the fans will love every moment of "Reborn". As said in the review: they have a personal insight on Heavy/Power Metal, and have talent to go further into it. But for now, "Reborn" is a great album to spend a good time listening to.
