Well, when Death Metal reappeared after an hiatus between 1987 (when the greater part of the bands of the style migrated to Thrash Metal or into something more experimental) and 1989 (when MORBID ANGEL released "Altars of Madness"), it not only reached a place on underground where it stays until nowadays, but as well become fragmented into many styles. We can say that Brutal Death Metal appeared due MORBID ANGEL's "Covenant" and KRISIUN's "Curse of the Evil One" (a Split album with another Death Metal band, VIOLENT HATE from São Paulo, which side was called "In Between the Truth") back in 1993, and first EPs from MORTICIAN are the main roots of the style, and it gathered many legions fans since then. And the USA trio VISCERAL THRONE is a band that follows their steps with personality on their new EP, "Those Who Have Fallen Beyond The Grace Of God".

Brutal, sometimes extremely fast, other times slower, but always extremely distorted, thunderous and sick. And their music is really very good in all aspects, besides they're not creating something new. But it is different due their personal approach, so we can say that they are in a very good way on creating their sickening music.

And their musical level becomes extremely listenable due a very good sound quality. Stepping away from extremely dirty and harsh quality, we can understand clearly what they are playing, and what their music is all about. But this isn't a reason for complains and cries from the fans, because in this form, their music becomes more brutal and good than many bands that prefer a putrid sound quality

"Those Who Have Fallen Beyond the Grace of God" is just an intro, preparing our ears to the oppressive and brutal "Father" (with very good changes between very fast tempos with slow and bitter ones. And this drummer is truly sick, due his fast and technical drumming style). "The True Sin" and "Indulgences" are both fine pieces of brutality, with great guitars and piggish voices, using again very good rhythmic changes. And "Colossal Vortex" is a version for old INTERNAL SUFFERING song, preserving the brutality, but written the rules by themselves, putting their musical elements on it.

A very good EP, indeed, and for those who loves brutal music, VISCERAL THRONE is for you.
