Well, I must say again that Metal fans must keep their minds wide open to every album they deal with. Here on Brazilian lands, where Ol' Big Daddy lives (and not Big Foot, mind you all), we have to deal with Metal fans with very conservative minds. Yes, to be extremely true with you all, SEPULTURA's "Roots" has a lot of opposing opinions here, where people like their work only until "Arise" era. So I believe that it's a trend in all world as well. But fortunately, I got an open mind since I had to deal with "Into the Pandemonium". And that was a very difficult album to be accepted. So understand and speak about VIOLENT VATICAN's EP, called "Vice City", is not a pain in my conscience.

Yes, these guys are really trying to create something new, going into a mix of Metal aspects with jazzistic structures with the use of saxophone, some Pop and experimental touches in the middle of massive guitar riffs and solos, and a well worked rhythmic basis, so it's a new way of creating Metal. Besides some couldn't like, many will love.

Very good production, to make their musical work gain some embodiment, of course all musical instruments are sounding clear as they must, due some great arrangements and complexes harmonic structures.

Although the great part of the EP is instrumental, "Brink" has some screamed vocals and a heavier feeling, as "Welcome to the Vice City" and "Red Light" have a more Jazz orientated way, with great keyboards and saxophone participations. "Rose City Relapse" is another track with a Jazz influence, but with some harsh screams, as well as "City Limits" got a mix between aggressive and calm moments, with clean guitars and distorted ones living together (but not at the very same time).

Good EP, and creates a new way for Metal bands.<
