Mind Control
Vermin
Germany, in terms of Metal, always brings good bands for us all, and coming from Batreuth, comes the madmen quartet VERMIN, doing a doing something between Death Metal and Rock N' Roll, namely Death N' Roll in their second album, "Mind Control".
Of course they don't sound like something new, but it doesn't mean it's not good. They are pretty good, and their music is so hooking, making all of us want to hear them more and more. At first listening, they sound strange, but at second one, they'll get you for sure.
Good vocals that works sometimes with low grunts, another times in extreme screams, good and strong guitar riffs (with some touches of 60's and 70's Rock), bass and drums working as heavy as Hell, so, their music pulses with life.
Good sound production, a pretty simple artwork, that all contributes to show a band that only cares about their music, and is giving a great "fuck you all" for fashions, trends and musical labels putted into Metal. They care only to do good music and to bleed your ears.
Highlights: "Mind Control" and its more mid tempos (pay attention to the guitars), "Bitch" (a catching song, with great vocals and riffs. And the chorus will be sing out loud for everyone who hears the song), "Hypocrite Hero" (another catching song, not so fast but with good work from rhythm kitchen), "Memories", the Rock'n'Roll themed "Eye for an Eye", and the long and heavy "Sick Reality".
A very good album, worth of many and many listens.
