Sometimes, when a band uses eroded old formulas to create their music, you can find something really good, and even sounding Old School, you have the clear idea that you're dealing with a promising band. Although the German quartet TOTAL VIOLENCE is not creating a new Metal style or something like that, their first album, called "Violence is the Way of Life" is really very, very good.

Their musical work is that form of Thrash Metal in the same vein of the 80s, powerful, fast (but not all the time) and full of energy that we already know. They play in a vein remind the violence and savage approach from the German school, having as influences KREATOR, DESTRUCTION and maybe some touches from the violence that EXODUS show. Yes, they are truly violent and aggressive, with catchy musical arrangements, good technical level, and all. Again: they aren't creating anything, but they are good in the way they are, and have great potential to do better in the future.

The sound quality seems to be the key for "Violence is the Way of Life". Yes, because they aren't trying to copy those old sound qualities of the past, but doing things in a modern way. Working from this point of view, their music becomes more impacting and full of a raw energy that will hold you all to them. Nine neck-breaking songs await you all, and their best shots are "Disease Disorder Death" (the song that opens the album, with a brutal insight, and an excellent work from bass guitar and drums, due very moments where both musical instruments shows excellent technique), the raw energy flow from the guitar riffs on "Toxic Death" (filled with some slower moments and vocals using harsh low tunes), the brutal assault in a Crossover way called "Guess Who's Next", the violent storm of insane riffs and good solos on "Storm the Front" (very good tempo changes, and excellent technique from guitars), the slower and bitter "Eat You Alive" (that ends in a faster way), and the brutal thrashing blow showed on "Violence is the Way of Life".

They are pretty good, and with experience and having the right direction, they can become as great as many names of these days.
