Three Seasons - Things Change album cover

In this moment, another trend in Metal Rock is that search for the past. It seems that many bands prefer that raw and psychedelic sound of the end of the 60s/beginning of the 70s to express their feelings. There's nothing wrong with that, if the bands remember to fill their music with life and personality. Some fail on trying this, just being a clone of what is already done. Some, even not being original, do a good work, as the Swedish trio THREE SEASONS, and their latest album, "Things Change", is really good.

Their musical work is that old and good Psychedelic Rock with great influence of Blues, something that can remind you all of LED ZEPPELIN on their first album, and something from BLUE CHEER. But they have a personalized way to do things on their music, so even distant of being innovative on musical terms, they are good.

Unlike many bands of this same musical trend, they prefer a clear sound quality, keeping the raw and organic feeling of the old times on the instrumental tunes (but even in this way, all sounds in a very good way). It seems that they know that is impossible to travel back in time, so the only choice is to live in the present and play in a way coherent with these days.

"Been Gone" with its hard energy, the Psychedelic Blues scent that fills "Something You Can't Have", the hard beat done by bass guitar and drums on "Set Me Free Again", the accessible Classic Rock approach of "Break Down, Start Over", and the Bluesy introspective parts of "I Don't Need Nothing More" can be suggested as their best moments on the album, but I believe that the fans will love the album from the beginning to its very end, and will put it to play repeatedly times. Once more: it's nothing original, but it's good.
