Thrash Metal appeared both in the USA (where the genre truly was born) and Europe with a little time spam between them. In the USA, the bands played in a catchy and melodic way, with clear references to NWOBHM underground bands and to earlier Hard Rock from the 70's, and European Thrash Metal (mainly from Germany) had improved aggressiveness (although melodic influences appeared in their music after 1986). And as Thrash Metal reappeared after some years of silence, European bands kept being more violent than the USA bands (except for SLAYER), but things changed since then. And Greek duet THRAZ shows to be a true heir from both schools, as "Roll of Dice" shows clearly.

They mix Thrash Metal elements from European and North American schools of the genre, but using a great melodic influence that comes from traditional Heavy Metal as well, what means that they're in a vein similar to New York Thrash Metal bands (like ANTHRAX and OVERKILL), and although it sounds pretty immature at this point, they show a great dose of energy and personality, along with hooking choruses and fine instrumental arrangements. "Roll of Dice" was produced by David Mano (the band's guitarist, vocalist and bassist) and Jim Selalmazidis (who mixed and mastered the album as well), trying to create something that could fit in the band's musical work. And although it's not sounding 100% compatible with their ideas, it works, sounding clean and heavy at the same time.

The catchy melodies of "Nothing from You" (that shows pretty good guitars), the slow paced tempos with clear influences from German Heavy Metal shown on "Roll of Dice" and on "Deceive", the modern Thrash Metal harsh feeling that fills "Get a Job", the massive energy surge that appears on "Bite Me" (very good drumming), and the very good rhythmic changes shown on the instrumental "Changing Eras" are the albums good points. Just a bit more maturing and THRAZ will in the point of delivering great songs and to become a great name. For now, "Roll of Dice" is really a very good surprise.
