To be different from many in our days is something that is really hard to be. Yes, because many metalheads still hold their mentality on those works that were done in the past. We can like and love the past, there's nothing wrong with that, but we must keep our attention in the future, and not close our minds in a shell made of the past. But there are those who dare to try something different. The English duo THE DEVILS MUSIC is one of those who want to create something different, as we hear on their first album, "The Devils Music".

This is the new project from Daniel J. Finch, founder and former guitarist from DEVILMENT, and on this band is expanding limits. It's not merely a Groove Metal band, but it's filled with many different influences, that come from Black Metal, Symphonic Metal and even Gothic Rock. It has a personal approach, being aggressive and nasty, but with a melodic and Groove aesthetics. Recorded at Holocaust Studios, having Daniel, Paul and Fennel on the production, the sound quality of "The Devis Music" is really very good. It gathers the necessary clarity with a great dose of musical weight and the aggressiveness of their identity.

Having a set of different vocalists on the album (the list is very long), and other special guests as Jamie Hunt on guitars, Joe Bailey and Marc Hoyland doing keyboards parts, the songs of the album are all very good. But the abrasive weight and very good guitars on "Can You Hear Me", the modern groove that fills "Break Through", the hooking tempos from "Phoenix" and "The Smile that Hurts" (this one with some great guitar parts and very good keyboards), the very good vocal parts on the abrasive weight of "Dvoid of Light", and the Industrial parts from "Cthulu" are the finest moments of the album.

"The Devils Music" is a very good album, indeed.
