Temple Of Judgment
Savior From Anger
Since the end of the 90s, Italy revealed great names in Metal.
Yes, the country became a great breeding spot for Metal, and for excellent bands. And I believe that Big Daddy here doesn't need to write names, both on melodic Metal styles and on extreme ones. Italy is a Metal country now.
There are some good names on Italian scene that deserve our attention. One of them is from SAVIOR FROM ANGER, an experienced quartet that plays Power Metal and is coming with their third album, called "Temple of Judgment".
They play a Power Metal form near what we are used to hear from bands with a heavier and aggressive insight, like PRIMAL FEAR on its earlier albums. And there are touches from other names from the German Heavy Metal School, as ACCEPT and GRAVE DIGGER, but these guys have guts and personality. And of course some scent from the 80s is present, due the presence of Bob Mitchell, the North American singer that sung on ATTACKER (a legendary band from USA underground), who has a melodic and aggressive voice tune, but he uses his talent in a way that keeps the melodies untouched.
Michael Kusch (the band's drummer) did the mixing and the mastering of "Temple of Judgment", and he did a good work. The instruments are sounding in their due places, and with good tunes (they could be better, anyway), and a heavy dose of aggressive weight. And the artwork is from Elena d'Agostino, and she did a great job as well. And by the way, there's a great special guest on the album: on guitars, Craig Wells, the former guitarist from legendary quintet METAL CHURCH is here!
The album is good from the beginning to its end, and as their best shots, we can point to the vigorous and melodic "Across the Sea" (a song with excellent vocals, and with a heavy weight, due the works from bass guitar and drums), the very good guitar riffs on "In the Shadows" (that has a very good and catching tempo, presenting a very good guitar solo) and on "Bright Darkness" (another song with very good tempos, but here, the melodies on vocals are excellent), the aggressiveness from the excellent "Thunderheads" (another great work from bass guitar and drums, creating a solid rhythmic basis for the exhibition of the guitars and vocals), the brutality of the heavy riffs on "Chosen Ones", and the fast and thunderous "The Eyes Open Wide" (another great show of the vocals). But the entire album is very good.
Great album!
