Guys, this is what Big Daddy calls Black Metal its darker and putrid way as possible.

The Norwegian band SARKOM is really what many Black Metal fans are looking for, for the reissue of the first full-length, "Aggravation of Mind". It's a pure and cold Black Metal in the roots of the SWOBM, but please, "true" is a word I definitively refuse to use. "True" or "false" would never be used to express an opinion about a band's work. If you're used to it, Ol' Big Daddy will provide a face palm for that.

Turning back to SARKOM, their music is aggressive, fast (but with some slower moments) and harsh, no doubt about that, reminding some past works from GORGOROTH, IMMORTAL and MARDUK, but having their own personality. And be prepared for a hurricane of harsh vocals (not following the tendency of the style, in a different way that only few used), excellent guitar riffs (some darker melodies arising in many moments), bass and drums in a rhythmic basis solid, guarding the tempos in a good shape.

The sound production is too organic and harsh, making the band sound as harsh and raw, but with good recording quality. All is fine, in their places, in a good work of Martin Storm Olsen (who worked in recording and mixing processes).

Musically, the band is very good indeed, with great songs and arrangements, but the better moments are "Bloodstains on the Horns" (what guitar and bass work!), "Embraced You Shall Be" (a not so fast song, focused in a darker atmosphere, with great vocals and drums), the fantastic "Alpha Omega", "The Chosen One" (with tempo changes and there in a wonderful way), and the long "Cryptic Void".
