Panzer - Honor album cover

And then, after 23 years of waiting, the Brazilian quartet PANZER (who returned to activity last year, and released the single "Riding" and the EP "Brazilian Threat", both for free download in their web site), from São Paulo, release their third album, "Honor", via Shinigami Records. And believe me: it's one of best Brazilian CDs from this year.

For all those who don't know, the quartet does a hybrid between a very aggressive Thrash Metal with some aspects of the 70's, as well as some modern influences, with very good technique aspects, full of energy, personality and life. It's a perfect mix between 70's weight, 80's aggressiveness, and 90's and nowadays modernity.

Very aggressive vocals in mid tunes in Phil Anselmo's vein, excellent guitar riffs (something remind us from Tony Iommi's style) and solos (here, the melodic influence of Randy Rhoads is clear), bass with a very good technique level, and a fantastic drums' work is what they're about, and for sure this Brazilian Metal division can crush your ears, break your necks and disturbs a lot all you neighbors.

Henrique Baboom was in charge of the sound production, giving dry and "live" feeling for band's music, showing PANZER's shows energy, but the instruments sound clear and heavy with good quality. The artwork, a good work from Rodigo Balan and Edson Graseffi, is fine, and beside they used shades of gray, black and white, the band's massage is there.

The choose the best songs is a very difficult task, for all the tracks are masterpieces of aggression and good Metal taste, so let the bloodshed begins in you houses with "The Last Man on Earth" (a brutal and hooky song, with fantastic drumming and excellent guitar riffs), "Intruders" (fine vocal work, as well as some pure SABBATH riffs), the bitter and well worked "Rising" (their first Single after they came back, with perfect vocals and bass duties), the oppressive "Saviour" (another killer attack from the drums, with WOSLOM's Silvano Aguilera making a special appearance on vocals), the heavy load from "Hastening to Death" and "Mind's Slavery" and the fast and furious "Alma Escancarada" (an almost Crossover song, but with some slower moments), and just after its ending, comes and insert from BLACK SABBATH, a tradition in all PANZER's albums.

A perfect album for all Metalheads generations.
