Of a mythology whose inception is less than a century Godzilla has stricken the minds and imaginations of many the world over and just as his body was rent incorporeal by Ogata's bomb so too does OXYGEN DESTROYER leave listeners breathless with "Sinister Monstrosities Spawned By The Unfathomable Ignorance Of Humankind".

Commencing with the track "Merciless Embodiment Of Everlasting Death" a cold and chilling reference to an eternal demise, the song as a whole is a viscous cohesion of aggression and disdain culminating into a steadfast and brutal opening. "Possessing The Putrified Remnants Of The Unholy God Incarnate" follows in the vein of its predecessor coming off as relentless and unabated, however a bit more diversity is given in reference to dynamics and contrast both of which lay the groundwork for the eerie solos that wrest attention with ease. "Enduring The Maternal Rage Of The Amphibious Monstrosity" is a reference to none other than the 1961 film, Gorgo. The doubled solo is the most memorable aspect of the song completely overtaking all the other instruments in favor of its sweeping notions. "As Big As A Battleship" is an homage to one of my favorite monster movies, The Giant Claw, a gargantuan bird composed of awful special effects that terrorizes Manhattan before its plummet into the Atlantic, the pulsing rhythm of the song illustrates the feverous scenes and frantic fight with the avian powerhouse.

The instrumentation is exceptionally well performed and arrange where each section bears its own gritty force never overlapping one another or demanding center attention. The guitars are my own personal favorite element having a massive and viscous tone both in rhythms and leads with echo used to offset and syncopate to an eerie effect; the bass is buried a minute amount within the mix, still in performing its duty in grounding and giving support but lacking sharp distinction; the drums tie the entirety of the band together with a succinct and caustic form, the kick perhaps being the singularly most pronounced sound in the entirety of the record; and lastly, the vocals are brutal, bitter, and belligerent a shape and sharpness that fits perfectly with the rest of the band.

"Sinister Monstrosities Spawned By The Unfathomable Ignorance Of Humankind" is certainly a mouthful pairing with the actual music contained within the leave a lasting impression that resounds as both something quite unique and heavily inspired. For anyone a fan of Death and Black Metal the tracks are sure to draw their attention, for any Kaiju or B-film monster movie fan OXYGEN DESTROYER is certain to leave a lasting impression, the 29 minute length is a bit short but what lies within that time is quite vivid and imposing.
