Sometimes, when you're not expecting something new, then a CD comes from out of nowhere and can catch you by your ears, and you won't be able to leave the band after that for a long time. And ORBWEAVER, coming from Miami, in the USA, really can astonish all those who are looking for something new with their EP "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon".

This quartet focuses on doing an experimental Death Metal, with some Jazzistic touches, tribal beats, Industrial influences and a lot of strange sounds, but don't be so radical, for the music is good and great, remembering some bands in the vein of BRING ME THE HORIZON, something of TESSERACT, and even with the avant-garde touch of older TIAMAT here and there, but all of this without losing the brutal and oppressive musical grip.

With good sound quality, put all instruments and musical elements of their work very clear and "in your face", prepare to be conquered by them, for the band is here to break all the walls and torn apart from all musical limits.

A fine work, indeed, and all five tracks are precious gems, but you can hear and love "Xoxotic" (with great vocals and very oppressive guitar riffs. And a note of mine: he in Brazil, 'xoxota' is a dirty word for female genitalia. I laughed myself a lot, LOL), the heavy crunch of "Crystal Prisms", and the half ethereal and half aggressive "Tragic Orbit: A Doomed Cosmic Starship", an instrumental song with a lot of musical changes, too heavy and intense.

This band is really "mind-erasers", so, prepare for being erased for old-fashioned concepts, and let yourself be drowned in their musical chaos.
