And the frozen lands of Norway show again a great fertility in terms of Metal, giving birth do a band like OBLITERATION, that comes to the Metal arena with their third album, the very good piece of aggression called "Black Death Horizon", via Indie Recordings. A pure Death Metal blow in our faces.

Sometimes fast (but never trying to reach the speed of light, please), sometimes more slow, but always heavy and abrasive, this quartet music is a holocaust of harsh vocals (not the low grunts I was used to in Death Metal, reminding Matti Karki's style), good and fine guitar riffs, rhythmic kitchen as heavy as Hell, and their music is very, very good.

Good sound production (a little rawer than the necessary), keeping the instruments heavy and aggressive, a simple artwork, all showing a band that really does not care for others opinions about their music.

Seven tracks awaits us all, with some of them lasting long periods of time, having their highlights in "The Distant Sun" (many tempos variations, with great riffs), the long and aggressive "Transient Passage" (bass and drums making a heavy weight basis), the slow nightmares "Ascendance" and "Black Death Horizon" (this one with some fast tempos).

A good name, indeed, and can become a great Death Metal band someday.
