One Minute Silence

Sometimes people think that Rap/Hip Hop influences entered Rock (and Metal) in the 90's, when Alternative Rock became a commercial success. It's a gross mistake to think in such a way, because bands as RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS, FAITH NO MORE, LIVING COLOUR started with such trend on the second half of the 80's. Maybe Thrash Metal fans don't remember this name, but MORDRED used such influences as well. And Metal and Rock influences entered Hip Hop/Rap scene as well, as could be stated by the presence of Kerry King (SLAYER's guitarist) played solos for BEASTIE BOYS' "Licenced to Ill", CYPRESS HILL became respected on Metal scene, the rapper Ice-T started BODY COUNT, and many more. And following this trend is NUKORE, a furious set of rappers, blowing the speakers with "One Minute Silence".
Their musical work is intense, greasy and modern, as a Rap/Hip-Hop group that gathered influences from HATEBREED, BIOHAZARD, SLIPKNOT and others, with a strong set of modern Metal features (especially the greasy guitar tunes). It's really a blend of Metal and Hip-Hop done in a very good form, balancing both sides in an almost perfect form. Yes, it's good, brutal and really oppressive. Even fans of names as PUBLIC ENEMY or CYPRESS HILL must take care when dealing with this album. The sound production made a Hip-Hop band sounds as a Metal band. Obviously that their music is a hybrid, but this brutal and oppressive approach focuses mainly on the guitar riffs is really a very good idea. And everyone can understand what is being played clearly.
The strong and aggressive groove presented on "Black Friday", the Rapcore approach used on "Give Me My Pain" (very good Rap vocals), the chaos in form of music called "Erase & Redefine" (where the New Metal influences become evident) and "One Love, One Life" (very good screamed vocals), and the Old School Rapcore abrasive aggressiveness of "Like My Likes" can be said as the album's best songs, but the fans will enjoy all of them. "One Minute Silence" transpires inspiration and honesty, so better take care to not become an addicted to NUKORE's music (but it's the best part of it, of course).
