Acacia Avenue was an idea brought together in 2008, by founding member Torben Enevoldsen (Fate,Fatal Force & Section A).Toby spent the most of 2008 writing new material with some of it been of the AOR/Melodic Rock nature and the idea to make an album in this genre quickly became a reality. The self titled album was released in 2010 featuring Tony Mills (Ex TNT,Shy),Lars Safsund (Work Of Art),Geir Ronning (Radioactive) and Torben Lysholm (Pangea & Mysterell) on vocals.January 2011 saw Torben join Danish band Fate and despite been busy with them and other projects, under the Acacia Avenue name he managed to record another three albums the last album was "Worlds Apart" in 2018.Now the fifth studio album "Chapter V" which the majority of the recording, mixing and mastering took place at Torbens "Funny Farm Studios" in Denmark featuring some well known singers once more.

"Chapter V" opens in classic rock style with a strong guitar and rhythm presence, with the classic Hammond Organ touches which features Peer Johansson (Fate) on vocals who delivers a solid vocal with a cool raspy tone,a track with a Deep Purple/Rainbow vibe for me.This fifth album is a mixture of classic rock with some AOR/Melodic tracks. "Longest Time" has that Scandinavian melodic rock feel with plenty of keys & guitars with a big chorus with the vocal duties falling to C.O.P. frontman Peter Sundell,a track which is right up my street! Next up the man behind this project lends his pipes to "Stand Your Ground"  whos voice has a more bluesier tone the guitars & rhythm have an upbeat melody along with the positive lyrics which both contribute to deliver this solid track, which is the lead single from this album."Life Of A Hundred Years" is another solid mid-pace hard rock track which features Dagfinn Joensen (Fate & Bloody Dice) on vocals which for me has one of the strongest vocals on this album. The legend Tony Mills brings a rework of "Wait No More 2.0" which feature son the debut Acacia Avenue album,an 80's sounding track which is followed by "Nothing Else To Do" which is a guitar driven track with some great guitar tones and runs.A solid cover of Dan Reed Network "Rainbow Child" is another album highlight with Toby Enevoldsen on vocals.

"Stand Up" has some bright prominent keys with vocals again by Peter Sundell,a catchy energised earworm melody which gives me 80's Van Halen vibes."Standing On The Outside" is another hard/classic rock number which motors along with the vocals falling to Peer Johansson once more. The album comes to a close with Toben on vocals for "All Of The Time" which is a big AOR number which has a Journey and Foreigner feel, there;s a big keys presence and the guitars soar throughout,a definite arena filling track. "Chapter V" is another solid album for this Acacia Avenue project and Torben Enevoldsen. The album flows with the perfect balance of classic rock & AOR/Melodic tracks which are delivered with style & panache. An album full of singers with strong vocals backed by some superb musicians.Another great chapter for Acacia Avenue.A great listen."Chapter V" is released on the 29th May through Pride & Joy Music.
