No Remorse
No Remorse

What about some Old School Thrash Metal in the traditional Brazilian way, dear nephews and nieces?
I say that because here in this hot weather and from this corrupted country (our politicians are trash, no kidding), the conditions for the birth a powerful and nasty Thrash Metal band are fit. This is the way that the alcoholic Thrashers from NO REMORSE, a trio from Rio de Janeiro, uses to create powerful and aggressive music that you can hear on their new release, their first album, called "No Remorse". With, of course, thousands of bottles of beer as well!
Nasty and raw, these alcoholic maniacs plays in a way rooted in the European Thrash Metal School, and take inspirations from bands such as ARTILLERY, ONSLAUGHT, and of course, TANKARD. But in some aspects of their musical work, you'll feel the same raw energy and aggressive approach of melodies that MOTORHEAD used to shown on their songs. Although they aren't playing anything new at all, they have guts and a violent personality, and as well, the experience they got from their previous EPs ("DemoHATE" and "Killing Ground") and live shows paved their way.
In the midst of many difficulties, they recorded their album at Pyro-Z Studio, having Rômulo Pirozzi as the producer (and he did the mixing and mastering as well). The sonority of "No Remorse" is dry, filthy and raw to the very bones, but in an organic and clear way (you'll understand what they are playing clearly). The instrumental tunes they used are extremely near from what they use on live shows, then what you hear on the album and what you hear on the shows are the same. Be prepared, because the energy that flows from the speakers can melt your ears and break your bones! Following the same tendency from the production, the graphic artwork, done by Ricardo Schmidt, is very simple, but aggressive and straight. So the main focus of our attention is on their songs.
Obviously, the band experience helped a lot and the difficulties lapidated their musical insight. There are all fine, but I truly recommend you to pay attention on "Throw the Bone" (fast and furious, with very good guitar riffs and charming chorus, where nasty backing vocals are doing their part), the short and furious "Trap House" (a song that came from "Killing Ground" EP, recorded once more, where the energy level can destroy your displays), the raw and anthemic "A Flash of Thrash" (filled with good rhythmic changes, and where bass guitar and drums show how they can create a massive and heavy rhythmic line, and some vocals were done by Marcos Anvito, from HICSOS, another excellent name of Thrash Metal from Rio de Janeiro), the hypnotic cadence and tasteful guitars on "Killing Ground" (the other track from the EP of the same name, and the lyrics speak about Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, A.K.A. Lampião, the last great leader of social banditry movement called Cangaço here in Brazil), the Crossover/Hardcore song called "L.T.F." (where we find a very good work from the vocals, and the song harmonic structure can remind you of something that D.R.I. did on the past), the thrashing ripping rhythm shown on "Dawn of the Final Day" and "Killing Joke" (this one is short and straight, and has its lyrics based on an old and classic Batman story, with the same name of the song, and that was written by Allan Moore), and the technical and fast "The Ripper", where bass guitar and drums are showing what they can do (and the lyrics are based on a Brazilian book called "O Xangô de Baker Street", that is a vision of Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. Watson, in an adventure here on Brazil, pursuing the guy that would become Jack, the Ripper).
Yes, the only criticism I have to say is that the album is too short, because the more you listen to "Nor Remorse", the more you want from these alcoholic madmen from Rio de Janeiro.
By the way: the album is for free streaming or download. The download can be done here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwkWnytOYIEASzltT3dKZkJvcXc/view
