Ready For The Action (Reissue)
No Bros

Well, in this reissue era in which we are living, good and forgotten albums from the past are being on the shelves of the CDs stores again, giving to the new generations the opportunity to known bands that, due some injustice of fate, were not known as they deserved. Of course we could state to you all that, if those bands had the right opportunity, they would change the entire metal scene worldwide. "Big Daddy" here is not kidding. There are bands that, with the thing going right, would shadow names like IRON MAIDEN, BLACK SABBATH, METALLICA and many other great bands. Think if THIN LIZZY, U.F.O., TESTAMENT, and many others could take the right chance. One band that could make things a bit different is NO BROS, from Austria. Just a careful listening on "Ready for the Action", their first album from 1982 makes the things clear to all.
Even being through a time when NWOBHM was spreading throughout, they were playing a sound that mixes traditional heavy metal with classic hard rock, both styles from the 70s, but not sounding out of date. No, their music is heavy and elegant in both ways, reminding us from RAINBOW best moments with Graham Bonnet on vocals, but with their own personality. Their songs present powerful vocals (with very good choruses in every song), very good guitars, bass, and drums doing their best, excellent work done by the keyboards. In those times, clones as Dolly were forbidden to exist. Their musicians are all fine in their duties, so we have a homogeneous band, playing good and great music. It's something astonishing that these guys didn't great and swallowed Europe on those times!
The sound quality is good, besides the production was very simple, but this way, we could feel the true power of their songs, with some great moments as "Ready for the Action", the furious and catching "Speedy", the raw power from "Second King of Darkness" and "We Are Stronger". But this reissue has three delicious bonus tracks: two new songs recorded only for this album, "A Night in Touch City" and "Back Again", showing that now the band still has the same power as before, and a version for "Ready for the Action", recorded at Schubert In Rock festival, with KROKUS' Marc Storace on vocals.
These guys still have a long way to go in Metal...
