Well, since the coming of the first women to Rock/Heavy Metal scene, this caused a great disturbance to a world that was dominated by men (of course I'm speaking from the stage, not the audience, where they are at the same time as us). But as time passed by, their conquests became more and more known, so, on the days we are living in, women and men competes in equality for a chance on music. And maybe NITROVILLE can make many men stay eating their dust, because "Cheating the Hangman" is a very good album, indeed.

They are not trying to reinvent the wheel, just playing a fine and hooking form of Rock/AOR music, with some weight on their songs, and some elements that seems to come from the 70s, without being a moldy ghost to torment the band's work. It's truly good and accessible, but sounding organic as well, so it can charm many of you, dear nephews and nieces.

The sound quality is fine. That's the point from where the feeling of "organic sound" comes from. No, there aren't abuses of technology, just a good sound clarity amount, but the whole musical concept of the band sounds extremely spontaneous and tasteful. Of course the instrumental tunes are near of the natural ones, so you have a very good idea of how the band sounds on a live concert. But the guitar volume could be a bit higher.

As their best moments, we could name the hooking rock called "Motorocker" with its fine vocals and good work from guitars (that are creating very good riffs), the heavy Rock with slow paced tempos that is shown on "Louisiana Bone", the raw energy that flows from the rhythmic session on "Spitfire" and on "Cheating the Hangman" (this one with excellent presence from bass guitar), the 70 feeling that fills "Let It Roll" (due the good use of slow tempos, along with good guitars), the accessible and charming "Dead Man's Hand" (what a good work from vocals, using a good range of tunes), the intense energy from "Take a Stand" (with very good use of the riffs once more), and the radio orientated song called "Danger Zone" (very good chorus, with charming musical arrangements).

It's a very good album, indeed.<
