As long as the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the Earth, and the whole world stopped, it was a time that made many people think about their political choices. As conservative politicians denied the danger and tried to send people into death, many voices rose to denounce to the world what was happening. And I'll be plain and clean: there are people with religious values that can't care about the millions of lives lost as long as they don't see LGBT+ kisses on TV screens or know of a nude person on an art exposition. If you think in such a way, you need to awake from such nightmare, because you're a pin in a game and you're to blame for all this sadness. For you, all bands that stand up against such moralistic views that elect corrupts and genocidal leaders are enemies, and MINISTRY is the public enemy number one. But they refuse to shut up, and keep spreading their anarchist gospel on "Moral Hygiene".

Everyone knows that the band is a pioneer on Industrial Metal, one of the creators of the genre. And on this album, differently of what is heard on "AmeriKKKant", they are sounding more aggressive and apocalyptic than experimental (besides some songs show such elements).  There are brutal and nasty songs, some into a more accessible way (as their version for THE STOOGES old song "Search and Destroy", and even from Gothic Rock, as can be heard on "Believe in Me"). The best to say is that MINISTRY brought back a lot of their musical aggressiveness from albums as "Land of Rape and Honey" and "ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ" (AKA "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs"), but with the experience and lessons that years brought. They're a veteran with 40 years of experience on their shoulders, you know. To create the right sonority for such chaos made music isn't an easy task, but Al Jourgensen (the vocalist and mastermind behind the band), along with Michael Rozon and Liz Walton on Al's home studio (Scheisse Dog Studio), created a massive and brutal sound quality, but that allows the band to express their songs in a way that can be understood by anyone.

Musically, it's a masterpiece, and all the songs are real violent blows on the mind of the conservatives, with the lyrics being true pukes of anarchist ideas to everyone. And be prepared, because songs as "Alert Level" (an Industrial Metal apocalypse based on guitar riffs on a SEPULTURA's vein, with effects and keyboards creating the bitter ambience for the vocals reach their targets), "Good Trouble" (an hypnotic song, contrasting introspective moments with abrasive parts where bass guitar and drums are playing a solid rhythm with harmonica incursions), "Sabotage is Sex" (a nasty song with some Hardcore elements on the mix, with the presence of legendary former DEAD KENNEDY's singer Jello Biafra on vocals), "Search and Destroy" (where the accessible appeal of the song is mixed with nasty Industrial Metal elements, and Billy Morrison, the guitarist who played on THE CULT and that is part of Billy Idol's band, make the guitar parts), "Believe Me" (where, as said above, some influences from Gothic Rock can be heard), and "Broken System" (from where some Country Rock touches can be detected into the abrasive musical mass of the band) are the right ones for a first travel into such fine piece of Metal. Be prepared, because the band really created a massive and destructive musical artifact.

As always, to deal with MINISTRY's music isn't something simple, but as long as the fans become used to what the band is up to, they'll understand that "Moral Hygiene" I is a wonderful album.
