To deal with irony and humor in Metal isn't a new feature, especially into Death Metal/Grindcore. Or do you really think that bands as BRUJERIA, OS CAPIAU (from Brazil), MACABRE and some others can be taken seriously? Not at all, their work is just a reason for fun and laughs if the listener can get the right idea. So the German duet MILKING THE GOATMACHINE is on such trend, and "From Slum to Slam - The Udder Story" is a really funny album. Musically, their work is heavily influenced by names as NAPALM DEATH, MORTICIAN and other names that use a blend between Death Metal tempos and natural aggressiveness and the noisy and distorted approach of early Grindcore. Of course that some songs are short and shows that Hardcore essence clearly, and on some, blast beats erupt from nowhere, but the songs song harsh and aggressive during all the time, and really fun.

Ferli Thielmann worked on the recording and as the producer "From Slum to Slam - The Udder Story". The main idea of what they wanted is: a sound aggressive, extremely heavy and with the right dose of crudeness, to sound as a Grindcore album; but never opening hand from a defined sound, in a way that every listener can understand what is being played. And the band got it in an excellent way, with very good brutal instrumental tunes. There are 17 very good songs on "From Slum to Slam - The Udder Story", each one of them worthy of being heard. But "Now We Are Old School" (a brutal song with some Thrash Metal elements, and with some piggish screams contrasting with extremely guttural grunts), the catchy guitars of "Milking Me Softly" and "Like an Everflowing Cream" (a true 90's Grindcore/Death Metal song), the chaotic and catchy charm of "Metal Liker", the Crossover assault heard on "1234 Leckstein" (very good drums, indeed), the intense dirty energy flow from "Grass Appeal Madness" and "Goatz with Attitudes", and the insane "Prost Mortem" are fine proofs that extreme music and fun can walk together.

"From Slum to Slam - The Udder Story" is really a fun album, so hear what the Goats from MILKING THE GOATMACHINE have to offer.
