Yes, another Nuclear Blast Records' reissue. They are really into it, giving a second chance to bands that didn't have a great public acceptance on the time of their albums' release. And it's good to hear once more albums as "The Dead Live By Love", the second album from Scottish band MENDEED, that unfortunately ended after this album was on the stores.

If in their first album, "This War Will Last Forever" (that was re-released as well), they were more into Metalcore, on this one, they evolved to a more aggressive and cohesive Melodic Death Metal form from their music. And of course it is way better than before, in the musical vein of earlier CHILDREN OF BODOM works (their two first albums), but more melodic and so technical. But it's still wild and aggressive as before, and still is a very good band, for the ones with a good musical taste (to moldy- 80s-bangers, you must stay out. Go back and keep on smelling your doses of mold and dust, complaining and crying for the 80s).

This time, they had a very good sound production, correcting the problems we heard on their previous album. Now, the band is sounding extremely clear, but is as heavy and abrasive as they really can, and the instrumental tunes were wisely chosen. And now, we can really appreciate their music in its full potential. Besides their album is excellent as a whole, we can point to the technical and aggressive "Burning Fear" (very fast and heavy tempos, with some guitars that reminds something from YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's more classical works), the melodic "The Dead Live By Love" (with great guitars, with very fine solos, and very good clean vocals), the melodic "Gravedigger" (with some good slow tempos, and once more, very good clean vocals along with the screamed ones), "Blood Brothers" with some musical accessible moments, the hooking "Through Dead Eyes" (a fine work on drums and bass guitar can be heard on this song), and the powerful and impacting "Reload 'N' Kill".

Yes, the band ended its activities after this album was out. But as future gets come possibilities, we can have a faint hope of their return, but until then, "The Dead Live By Love" will be playing in our CD Players.<
