Now You Know

There are a lot of projects with one-man behind it. MADAM MAYHEM is with this one, but it's not a one-man, but it's a one-woman behind it. MADAME MAYHEM is nothing less the name from the American singer from Manhattan. With a Gothic look, and with strong influences in Pop with Modern Rock, she is releasing her first album called "Now You Know" by BFD/ RED Records in 2015. With a picture from her and with dark scenery, it's possible you think it's a Symphonic Metal band or project. The artwork is very interesting and calls attention from the listener.
With an excellent line-up in the instrumental, MADAME MAYHEM calls to record "Now You Know". The producer was Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, THE WINERY DOGS), who produced and played on the album, Ray Luzier (KORN, KXM), Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (GUNS N' ROSES), Russ Parrish ("Satchel" from STEEL PANTHER), and Corey Lowery (SAINT ASONIA, STUCK MOJO). With a pleasant voice, she can sing several different styles passing the modern Hard Rock like in "Monster", "Perfect Nightmare", and "Nothing to Loose" and then flipping over to going to Grunge and then all the way over to the sweet ballads.
Other blends could be tasted in "Now You Know", like a retro song like "Anyone Who Had A Heart", that remembers me a lot the French cabarets, modern song like "Something Better (Now You Know)", "Witchcraft", "After 2am", "More than Misery", "Under the Microscope", and "Can't Stand" with a cool guitar solo in it and ballads like the heavy "Sacrifice" or something like "Better Days" with influences in Gospel songs, "Left For Dead" and "Pain" that could be fit like a 90's song with the Grunge movement.
Talking generally, it's an album with great commercial appeal in these songs, plus these tracks have a very good quality in their music. The songs are less than 5 minutes, and would easily play in the worldwide radios and conquer the new Rock fans.
MADAME MAYHEM made an excellent album to show the new breed from the Rock is there and active making an excellent work on it. For me, it's a dull work, but doesn't mean it's a bad work. That means we have already seen many traditional albums and a lot of works similar to something like the release of a"Now You Know".
