This Dollar Saved My Life At Whitehorse
Lucyfire
First of all I have to say I like electronic sounds like Kraftwerk or Depeche Mode. But I don't like the latest electro-pop fashion of bands that were once called Gothic Metal and decided they needed some cash. Even more I don't like efforts that try to rip off bands like them without the slightest effort to hide that try. Lucyfire plays electronic/gothic music, much in the likes of ToT's Musique. The difference is that there is no Liv Kristin in there (I hardly believed she was there in Musique anyway) and the male vocals are distorted to resemble the classic SoM way.
The music is mainly based on beats, samples and little on guitar, just enough to justify the reason why I am reviewing it. It's kinda fun, but it is due to get boring after a short while. Nothing bad, but nothing special either. And definately nothing original. The lyrics are nothing much, and to be honest only Kraftwerk fans - could - enjoy it a bit before it gets forgotten in the CD case. Hope they work up on their originality for their next release.
