One of my biggest disappointments as a metal fan was the turning of a band like Theatre of Tragedy  from metal to electro-trance or whatever the hell that thing that recided their latest releases was. The change from Aegis to Musique and Assembly was shocking, to say the least.
I guess the tunes in their *bleep* *bleep* *waga* *waga* (insert various Pacman sounds here) era might have been catchy for that kind of audience, but Liv Kristine's amazing voice was wasted since her ethereal vocals were needed no more and the previous dark feeling from this great band's music and lyrics belonged to the past.
A few months ago, Liv received an email from ToT that she was no longer in the band. Some may call it a bold step, I call it 'suicide' for them, and 'hurrah' for Liv.
Because now, they can follow a successful career as DJs in Ibiza and she joined with Atrocity to form Leaves' Eyes and go back to what we loved her for.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, the beloved siren is back to metal. In this single you'll get to listen three (ok, two, the radio edit never counts anyway) versions of Into Your Light, and Leaves Whisper that won't be in the upcoming album Lovelorn. There is also a multimedia track as a small bonus.
I loved Into Your Light from the first notes and I found myself listening to it many times in a row, something that rarely happens to me. It sounds as good as the original one in the acoustic guitar version. This song and Leaves Whisper show the way that the new band (or should we call it a project?) will take.  Pure, Gothic metal, atmospheric and not overused keyboards, clear and powerful guitars and bass and Liv's ethereal voice, blend to create a wonderful scenery for your dreams.
I really hope that the new album will meet or even surpass the standards set by this single.
